Wow! The Winter Solstice Concert today was absolutely fantastic! All the smiling faces, love and joy was so wonderful to see.
Thank you to the entire school staff and student body that worked so hard to put on this performance and bring our families and community together. We truly appreciate it.

Winter Wonderland Spirt Day
Some options of how you can participate (should you choose to do so) are:
•Wear holiday colours (red, green, blue, silver, gold, black)
•Winter Themed Clothing
•Pajamas
•Festive Sweaters
•Winter or Festive Accessories (mitts, hats, headbands, socks, earrings, slippers etc)
•Dress like your holiday celebrations (What do you celebrate over winter break?)
•Festive or Winter Themed Pajamas
•Small Sized Stuffies
•Cozy Blankets

•We will be celebrating winter traditions, holidays and important events that occur between November and February to celebrate the rich diversity we have here at Jean Steckle.

Thank you for all your support! It’s been an exciting year so far!

We wanted to share with everyone where council has been using some of the funds we’ve been working so hard to raise through all our initiatives.

*Buses - we help fund buses for class trips. This helps save on the cost to families, allowing more off site activities at an affordable price.

*Gagaball pit #2. Our second gagaball pit went in this year. The students are loving them! Encouraging movement, exercise, agility and hand-eye coordination.

*Bee-bots. These programable coding robots are a great and fun leaning tool that the students are excited to use.

*Glockenspiels - This percussion instrument is a great way to teach pitch and rhythm as part of music class. A set was purchased so the entire class can learn and play together.

*Large Beanbag chairs - these are now part of our library. They help to give the students a more comfortable and inviting place to read and learn.

*Waterproof speaker for the Phys Ed department. This speaker is used all the time as part of physical education when playing music, learning dances and at events they host throughout the year.

**plus we are still saving and setting money aside to improve our outdoor space.

A special thank you to all the council members, school staff, principals, grade 6 leadership team, volunteers and parents who have given their time, participated in or purchased items to help make all this possible!

Lots in the lost and found. Have your kids come down and claim their things. Or reach out to the school if you see something that you recognize and need set aside.

Jean Steckle PS School Council is pleased to share details on the upcoming school spirit wear sale.

From October 25th – November 6th families will have an opportunity to purchase branded spirit wear and show their “Steckle Pride”

The school will receive 10% of total sales as a credit, which will be used to support our school with items such as gym equipment etc.
