Verizon's How Sweet the Sound 2013 Regional Runner-Up
New Direction Gospel Choir was established in February 27, 1997 under the direction of Travis Bryant and the voices of twenty-two students of Tennessee State University. The mission was to reach someone and change their lives through song and letting them know that there is a better way. New Direction began a strong ministry with a choir of 100 or more. New Direction has had the privilege of being
in concert across the country and being the featured guests on Bobby Jones Gospel, Dewitt Johnson and many more. New Direction is aimed at changing lives and proclaiming the name of Jesus. In 2007, New Direction had the privilege of being in concert with national recording artist Kevin Davidson and the Voices. The choir is active throughout the community with several service projects that are strictly geared toward ministry. Audiences have been pleased with New Direction; not just for their performances, but because they are a ministering choir. Each year New Direction’s focus is on “Stepping up to the next Level!”
New Direction Gospel Choir has traveled many places taking what they have learned in vocal techniques and from Tennessee State University to share with others across the country. New Direction has ministered in Illinois, Iowa, Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky and with God’s guidance and our faith sprinkled with determination we definitely envision more to come. Now under the direction of Justin Butler, the choir is heading to the next level of greatness.
