Wondering if parents know about these FREE Literacy resources? These activities start with Preschool games and build upon important Literacy skills that children can play with at home and school.

Florida Center for Reading Research Families in our community can look forward to discovering valuable resources, courtesy of the Community Empowerment and Engagement Kit offered by The Village at Florida Center for Reading Research.

Things I know for sure…
1) Learning to read is not a natural skill like learning to talk. 🤓
2) Mastery of Reading comes before LOVE of reading.💜
3) Teachers can make a positive difference in a child’s life! 😇

Give the gift of reading! 🎄
Please consider donating new or gently used children’s books to any of our Little Comets’ libraries located at each of our GL elementary schools! We also have little libraries at our Delta Mills and Neff early childcare centers!
Feel free to give a book or take a book as a present!

Excited to share that our Neff Early Childhood Center on Jenne street has its own Little Comets library!! Huge thank you to our GL Lions’ Club for building another library!! Our community of readers are welcome to drop off children’s books and take what they would like. You do not need to leave a book to take a book, they are there for all to enjoy! If you are leaving books, please place books within the library. 🤓

Please help us welcome our newest "Little Comet's Library" to Holbrook Elementary! Huge thanks to our Grand Ledge Lions' Club for building our latest addition! This means all of our GL elementary buildings, plus our administration building and Delta Mills Early Childhood Center now have libraries loaded with FREE books for our great community of readers.

These libraries are filled with many great FREE books, so feel free to come take a children's book and or leave a children's book. When you leave a book, please make sure all the books fit into the library to keep them protected from our Michigan weather!

March is Reading Month and I like to share this frequently to show how important reading is, whether you are at home or at school. Listening to your child read or reading to your child can make a HUGE difference in their brain development and confidence. .
