On Thursday we have the world famous scooter author, scooter racer and long distance scooter rider Mark Bennett visiting us at The Wheatsheaf at Perry. We will meet at the Yard D'Callard at 6.30 or the pub at 7pm. Please let us know if you can/can't make it. If you are coming to Teesside for the racing, Alex needs your money on Thursday night at Perry, £125 for the racers plus £66 each for the house. From The Wheatsheaf we will ride back to The Station for beer, bu****it and maybe some cheeses. Have you registered your Lambretta for the 'classic car and bike show' at Hall Park yet?

It was a beautiful evening for a ride into the Bedfordshire countryside to the St. Johns Arms at Melchbourne. It was a great effort by Paul Wright to find us, travelling all the way from Great Houghton. Back at the Station we were joined by the non riding group where the bu****it reached another level. Laurence Rawlins cheese of the week was Dairylea triangles. When it was time to leave Suggs discovered he had a flat back tyre and no tools. Well done to Paul Hale and Brian Gates for solving this problem.

'International Scooter Rescue' had another call out when this machine of unknown manufacture failed it's MOT and needed recovery.

On Saturday we filled the Bluesmobile with 2.5 GP's and set off for the Lambretta Mecca that is JG Scooters in Grantham. Here the 2 complete scooters were being treated to a dyno test and the third one was being straightened on Jon Gilberts frame jig. As usual the hospitality was excellent and I apologies for not providing a full cheese board.

The weather gods were kind to us and it stayed dry for our ride to The Griffin's Head at Mears Ashby. A lovely village pub offering great food, nice beer and very friendly staff (and another guest appearance from Quentin Neville). From here it was a guided tour of more of Northamptonshires finest pot holes and some of Brian Gates favourite do***ng venues. Back at the Station we were blessed with frothing ales, quality cheeses and some top of the range bu****it.

It wasn't glorious sunshine but it stayed dry so that is a bonus. We enjoyed our tour on some of Northamptonshires finest pot holes and arrived safely at The Old Vic at Burton Latimer, after a refreshing glass of tap water we proceeded to The Station for a beer, some bu****it and a fine selection of dairy based tapas.

02/07/2024

We have been reliably informed by the Met. Office that Thursday evening will be lovely weather wise. We will meet at the Yard D'Callard at 6.30 and ride to the Old Vic at Burton Latimer for 7pm. From here we will return to the Station for your weekly fix of beer, bu****it and a sumptuous selection of tangy cheeses. Please let us know if you can/can't make it. If anyone still owes Euros from the French trip then bring them along. This weeks photo shows how to properly use a patio table in Dunbar.

This Thursday we are riding to the Bell at Odell, we are meeting at the Yard D'Callard at 6.30 and at the pub at 7pm. Please let us know if you can/can't make it because it's to f*cking hot to be waiting for someone that can't reply. From the pub we will return to the Station for beer, bu****it and homage to the fromage. This weeks star photo was taken by the very talented Rolf Emm.

That man Jim Tanner has done it again, since launching his range of 'Stable Boots' only a month ago followed up by the 'Stable Boot Clamp' soon after, now he is introducing the 'Rough Rider'. This sturdy English made boot boast all the fantastic features of the 'Stable Boots' but also includes top quality wide knobbly pneumatic tyres and deep grippy soles. His marketing department have obviously designed this product for racing at the Lambretta Club Deutschland e.V. Offroad Cup 2024, but we have been informed that several top acts will be wearing them at the Glastonbury festival this weekend. Rumours have mentioned Dexys Lunchtime Runners and Ocean Coloured Scene will be wearing them although modest Jim won't confirm this.

On a lovely warm Thursday evening 'bump start Brian' (Brian Gates) made his maiden voyage on the left side of the road. We first went to the Swan at Newton Bromsworld, during this journey we encountered a spooked horse and rider (everyone survived). From here we then travelled back to The Station, en route Staff Roberts tagged along although he did take his poorly Vespa home first. Beer, lashings of bu****it and a tiny amount of cheese were enjoyed on this long, hot night.

On Thursday evening we visited the oldest pub in Northamptonshire, The Bell Inn at Finedon. The weather was very kind to us but Paul Redding had a slight problem with his gear cables. The circlip had disappeared from the top of the gear selector pivot and made gear changing impossible because a cable had come free in the headset. With the cable repositioned in the headset and a rubber band holding the pivot arm on the pivot, we had temporally bodged it! It was great to see Quentin Neville out to play although he did forget his Lambretta. Also turning up in style was Phil Attley in his Ford V8 Pilot, this beast gave out more smoke than all our scooters put together! From here it was time for Paul Redding to test his gear linkage with a gentle cruise back to the Station, here we indulged in a beer, buckets of bu****it and 'Brie of the week'. For anyone who is feeling thirsty on Saturday, we are going to Rushden & Higham Rugby Club to watch the Saints game, K.O. 3pm.

04/06/2024

This Thursday we are riding to the Bell Inn at Finedon, meeting at the Yard D'Callard at 6.30 or at the pub at 7pm. Please let me know if you can/can't make it or if you are going straight to the pub. From here we will return to the Station for Brie of the week and some other guest cheeses (still no need to bring any cheese this week). We need to know who is interested in racing in the Off Road Cup in Germany in September ASAP. Needless to say this off road Lui will be 'painted green and raced the arse off it'.

There must be one of you sad bastards that needs this in your life, don't forget that this auction is raising funds for a great charity.

28/05/2024

On Thursday evening we are riding to the Star and Garter in Chelveston, meet at The Yard D'Callard at 6.30 or 7pm at the pub. No need to bring cheeses as we still have plenty in stock. Please let us know if you can/can't make it and if you are going straight to the pub.

Rushden Lambretta Club 135 racer Jim Tanner has been busy engineering in his workshop to develop his latest safety aid. After a big off at Teesside last September his research and developement department have been working tirelessly with a top quality Northamptonshire boot factory, now he can unveil this game changing race wear. In the future, Jim Tanner with the magic spanner plans to release an off-road version with quality knobbly tyres and a ladies range called TannerLady.

It was a dry but cool ride out to The Three Compasses at Upper Dean, here we bumped into Al from New Zealand (a former mod and scooter boy from Suffolk in his youth) who just came outside for a fag, From here it was a quick ride back to the Station for beer and cheese and a quick count up from our charity bucket, we raised £210.30 and this has been donated to the charities 'before we forget' and Team Caitlin. Big thanks to everyone involved over the weekend at the British Scooter Endurance Club (BSEC) 8 hour race at Whilton Mill who contributed.

19/12/2023

This Thursday we will be treated to the talents of our interesting guest speaker, Brian Gates. He will be recalling loads of his special stories including 'the day there was no cheese board' and 'how not to build a Lambretta gearbox'. All this and more will be available at The Station from 7pm. Please let us know if you can/ can't make it.

12/12/2023

I hope you have all dried out from the very moist Toy Run to Kettering General Hospital on Sunday. On Thursday evening we are gathering at The Station at 7pm for that weekly intake on beer, bu****it and quality cheeses. Let us know if you can/can't make it. I think the designer of this scooter got a bit excited when it came to fitting a long range fuel tank.

Photos from Rushden Lambretta Club's post 10/12/2023

On a mild Sunday morning we took a ride down to Osbornes sports & toys for a quick photo and to say a big thank you to Libby and Will Osborne. From here it was off to the Hobsons Choice pub in Kettering to meet Terry Carpenter and the rest of the Kettering Massive for a coffee and chat. Next stop was Kettering General Hospital via a nice little country ride and the weather deteriorated. A warm welcome and a big buffet were much appreciated and they even opened the bar! It was nice to catch up with so many people and scooter clubs while providing toys for the children and a great donation for the Air Ambulance fund.

08/12/2023

Well done to everyone involved, we have raised £310. This money will be spent at Osbornes sports & toys on Saturday at 2pm to buy toys for the Kettering Massive Toy Run on Sunday.
