Our last recognition of the 2024 ANRC National Championship is a special award, near and dear to the hearts of those who have been involved with ANRC for many years. The Marion Lee Horsemanship Award is awarded annually to the rider that best demonstrates the spirit and practices of the Forward Riding System as determined by the judges.

The award celebrates Marion’s loyalty and commitment to the ANRC organization and championship and the advancement of forward riding.

This year’s recipient of the Marion Lee Horsemanship Award was Katherine Atherton of Sweet Briar College. Katherine is a junior, from Montpelier, VA and this was her first time participating in the ANRC Championship format. She finished overall 3rd place in the Collegiate National Division with her own Viola BF, winning 🥇 the derby and finishing 🥈 in the medal round with scores of 84.5 & 85 respectively.

Congratulations Katherine on this meaningful honor! 💕 we hope to see you this spring at the 2025 ANRC Championship!
