Nicole Aviles Doula

I am a trained Postpartum, Infant Loss Doula who cares for all birthing people. I am a Postpartum Doula working towards certification with DONA. Advocate.

I am also certified as a P.A.I.L. I have training in Natural Breastfeeding, Babywearing, and Postpartum Care while experiencing Infant Loss. I began certification and continued education in breastfeeding, abortion, and infant loss because I want to be a resource. I want to provide care and compassion even when you can’t afford it. Because everyone deserves doula care. I hope that we can make space

Another reason to wear baby!

I LOVE babywearing. One of the many benefits is that it counts towards tummy time because it uses so many of the same muscles. 😍

Gather and Hold.

Most of us won’t talk about the weight we feel as mothers. To always hold it together. Putting everyone first. Mourning in the shadows the way we feel ourselves changing and the ways we ache for the person we were before leaky b***s, the constant need for snuggles, and always being on call. Our culture doesn’t prepare us to make space for our birth into motherhood. Never allowing space for the broken and aching parts of us. The parts of us that feel alone and unable to admit to the world all of our thoughts.
And yet somehow we find a way forward, always being asked how the baby is doing. Attempting to navigate the new space of person you and everyone else knew before and the person you feel yourself becoming. Postpartum is forever. This intense and beautiful journey never ends. What we are wrestling with will never go away and so we must face it, together. Holding each other up in whatever phase of this postpartum journey we are in. Allowing ourselves the luxury of being our most honest and struggling selves.
Gather and Hold. Let’s Gather and hold space. Let’s make time to not celebrate baby but to be honest and raw about how we are doing... how momma is feeling. To dig deep to care for ourselves and for other mothers..
When: Saturday, February 12, 19, 26, March 5... 3:30 -5:30pm.

Where: Zoom
$75 - before the first gathering I will be sending out a special momma package with herbal goodies and just for momma treats.
DM to sign up or with questions.

Those antibodies are so important for baby! Mask up and nurse often. Sending love to all the mommas nursing with Covid right now.

Having should not prevent you from having close contact with your baby. 👶🏻👶🏼👶🏽👶🏾👶

Early and exclusive breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact is critical for the baby’s health, especially for babies born early or small.

How is everyone doing????
Parents of kiddos under 5. I see you. Pregnant mommas. I see you.
Parents sending kiddos back to school. I see you.
Are you able to have a moment of peace a day? What are you struggling with?
Your feelings are valid. You are not alone. So many of us are struggling. It’s ok to cry in the bathroom, ok to be angry, to be scared. The pandemic is real. Be kind to yourself, you’re parenting in a season that is overwhelming and so scary. Sending you virtual hugs and holding space for you. ❤️

No reason to stop breastfeeding at age 1! In fact, your milk changes with your baby’s/toddlers needs and has just what they need in the second year. Milkitivity

LOVE this.

Apparently I'm feeling feisty about this this evening! But I feel passionate about this, as many in this world do.
You really don't need to 'make them' do anything. They learn and develop by being nurtured and loved.
Feed them, cuddle them, follow their lead, and don't ever feel guilty about it x

Who am I?

Born and raised in the great Pacific Northwest, I spent childhood summers camping in the mountains with my family. Some of my fondest memories are spending summer days hiking and fishing on a mountain.

I love rainy days, a good coffee shop, and everything fall... The Pacific Northwest will always have my heart.

About 8 years ago I moved Chicago for a two month contract job that turned into 2 years and a decision to stay in the city... where I ended up meeting my husband! I’m also the momma to two fierce, hilarious daughters (5 years and 1 year).

We all have a different story being written. Not all pregnancies are carried to term, nor all babies parented by those who birthed them. I am here to support people through abortion, adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage, and stillbirth. The reasons that these are chosen or encountered are as varied as the people who experience them. You deserve to be honored on your journey, wherever it takes you. I will help you find your footing and access your strength in all reproductive scenarios. Whether the path is anticipated or unexpected; whether you feel great about it or confused about it.... I want you to know that you are not alone and help you navigate this terrain and find solid ground.
