New month, new moment, new start. LETS GO.

New monthā€¦ planning day.

I love the energy of a new start.

Starting is my strong point, I admit it, and I know it.

I start well, so I set up structures to keep me going well, and if I keep going (you know, messy middle) I end with a bang.

Ending is actually my best part but sometimes that messy middle gets in the way!

Can you relate? Messy middles anyone?

Thatā€™s why Iā€™ve set up structures and employed people to help me in that messy middle areaā€¦

Like my own amazing coach magical ā€¦ she supports me in keeping my mindset in the pretty pink zone šŸ„°

Like the awesome Ari to support me in implementation of systems that I am not familiar withā€¦ šŸ¤“

Like my bestie in life and in biz who supports me with my biz accounts and has an extraordinary eye for design and organisationā€¦ šŸ˜˜

Like the expertise of who is the go to for branding and design and helped me create my image and soon to be revealedā€¦ website!! So exciting!! šŸ¤©
(Did I mention this woman is also an incredible human being who has taught me so much about accessible designā€¦ we talk for hours. Also one of my besties.)

Iā€™m still starting out, but I know and believe in the importance of team to support me.

They not only support me, but they keep me accountable.

Itā€™s not that they have to, itā€™s because itā€™s more motivating to be working with others than by myself. Itā€™s way easier to be lazy or procrastinate or get distracted if someone else isnā€™t relying on me for my part.

I know I start well, I know I get sticky in the middle bit and thatā€™s where I employ support.

Here in the middle - the implementation!

I truly believe that when there is Better Business, we have Better Humans, and naturally there will a Better Planet. Itā€™s why I am here. To help make things better.

I also know that Better humans make better leaders, managers, parents, friends, partnersā€¦ so many things!

When I think of Better Humans it reminds me of reading Me & White Supremacy by Layla Saad. In her book she challenges readers to be better humans, to come face to face with privilege and the constant reminder to keep coming back and remembering my own privilege doesnā€™t necessarily go away. And to be mindful of the privilege of others in comparison to my own. This awareness where there is disconnect helps keep me on the righteous path, it helps me become a better human.

We are open-minded employers, open-minded with the types of clients we take on, open to learning about how we can serve ALL people - disabilities, culture (share stories about experience), ancestries, beliefs. Respect for a basic right for all people, and supporting people who are marginalised due to colonisation and racial discrimination to me is a basic tenant of being a good human. To me fairness is black and white.

I have no shame in highlighting with my clients how people with unique abilities might work with them. I am forever seeding awareness, be it in sexual preference, gender, ability or ancestry. I am not afraid to talk about topics of privilege and appropriation. Why? Our world needs more better humans.ā€‚

I am a commitment to being a better person, making better choices for a better planet.

Thatā€™s where the idea for the Better Leaders Club came in. Because I believe if we are in a community of entrepreneurs who are experiencingā€¦..

Sassy is commonly defined as rude, insolent, impudent, disrespectful.

But thatā€™s just one perspective.

Sassy is also defined as distinctively, smart and stylish, bold, elegant, classy and chic. A flirty and self-confident woman, maybe?

One of the core values of The Sassy COO is Perspective. Curiosity drives me to look at things through different lenses and provides clarity or perspective for myself and others. Itā€™s very rare that my whole self sits on the same side of an argument.

I have an open mind in regards to solutions - not a one-size-fits-all all approach, but an open curiosity about how to approach solutions for my clients. Itā€™s not what we do, but how we can improve based on their current business and not make sweeping changes. If itā€™s not broken it doesnā€™t need to be fixed is my philosophy - itā€™s all about refinement, efficiency. How can we make it better?

Those who work with me can trust that I will approach their business through their eyes and then apply my filters. I wonā€™t go in with my own assumptions. I am truly curious to get to know my clients and their business.ā€‚

Not everyone has the luxury of keeping their daughter home.

Today, I had that luxury.

In fact I have choice because of the life I have created with my family.

I am grateful for this life as an entrepreneur where I can make calls like ā€œtoday I am going to keep my daughter home, who is well, because thereā€™s been a gastro outbreak at her kindy so letā€™s minimise the riskā€.

Even betterā€¦.

ā€¦my hubby also had a relaxed day in his business so we could share the parenting.

If I was employed I wouldnā€™t necessarily have that option.

In fact the option would come with sacrifice.

This is what I LOVE about being an entrepreneurā€¦..

-the time freedom
-the location freedom
-the relationship freedom

Although and here comes a big althoughā€¦.

On the flipside we have ā€¦..

-overwhelm
-excess stress
-impending urgency always -constant multitasking
-intense brainfog
-a lot of distraction
