Learn more about UNE"s graduate program open house at this link. Registration required to attend. I highly recommend attending if you are interested in any of the graduate programs at UNE. I attended several in the pre-pandemic years and learned much that cannot be learned from their website. Many graduates of UMA's Biology program are now graduates of a professional program at UNE and one UMA grad is now a faculty member at UNE!

Celebrating the accomplishments of one of BIO graduates!

The CFSRE is celebrating the International Day of Women & Girls in Science by highlighting the amazing women on our team.

Judith Rodriguez serves as a Forensic Toxicologist at CFSRE working on the International Toxic Adulterant Database (ITAD) program. She is the program administrator and acts as a liaison between laboratories around the world, collecting data and managing the ITAD.org website.

She is also assisting in the teaching and organization of the laboratory component of the Instrumental Analysis courses and proving support to various other projects.

Thanks Judith for being a rock star role model for women in Forensic Science.

• Fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in The Anatomy & Physiology (A & P) Classroom • Few introductory anatomy students are aware of inequities in healthcare delivery, as well as in education. The recent purchase at UMA Rockland of a Black Human Dual-Sex Torso Model for the teaching classroom will be used to foster an awareness in A & P students of inequities in healthcare delivery, as well as differential treatment of patients by race, ethnicity, and s*x - and such conversations can begin with modeling diverse body types in the classroom.

Having an anatomical model featuring race, ethnic, and s*xual diversity in the classroom enhances student learning regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in anatomy teaching and healthcare in the wider community.

This purchase was made possible by a UMA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council Mini-Grant awarded to Lecturer of Biology, Marta Frisardi.
