If you're emailing me at blueyonder, and still want to email me, then drop me an email to the old address and I'll tell you my new one. It's all useless Virgin Media's fault.
I finally plucked up the courage to watch myself on the 'The secret of good comedy...' panel at the recent Eastercon. Not too appalling. I'm far left as my alter-ego.
Arrgh, Eastercon has wrecked my writing average! (Oh, and that apostrophe is wrong – sigh.)
25 years of saving the world – again!
We were at the lovely Script Haven, Worcester, yesterday meeting readers and fellow writers. Lovely day.
This email comes to you written from a new chair. It's been hard to find one that suits and somewhere to try them on as it were. I'm still not sure. Would the other one in the other shop be better? You sort of need to try them for a couple of hours to see what it does to your back. Maybe I should have gone to Ikea with a measurement of my desk height, and my ergonomic keyboard and mouse, to write a couple of chapters. Rather suggests a writer-in-residence tour of furniture stores.
The Hugo Award nominations are open and I'm wondering about whether it's ethical to nominate my own 'Dawn and Dave of the Dead'. I mean it came out in 2023 and it's sort of SF. If I did, could I put 'Hugo nominated' on the cover? I would have nominated it , after all.
Amongst the "And another thing..." list, this is irritating.
The file in question is my own Word document on my own machine with my own macros. OK, fair enough, it occasionally bugs out due to worry, but the only option is to 'Disable Macros'. There's no way to say 'it's fine, keep the macros' and no option inside Word to turn them on!
It leaves the choice of trying to write while my fingers automatically press buttons to activate macros and then don't happen, or rebooting Word. Or rebooting the PC.
I had an odd, and very pleasant experience at the weekend when I met a book club. They are currently reading my 'Dawn and Dave of the Dead'. There was the tiniest of conversations about the novel, but it was rapidly curtailed by "Careful. Spoilers. I've not started it yet."
Question 2: How would you tell if you are controlled by Fate or Fortune? (25 marks)
Question 1: Is the decay of sub-atomic particles random or pseudo-random? (25 marks)

Finally, Lee, not all our walls are naked. I've just put up my David A. Hardy in pride of place in my new writing room.
My book, 'The Murders of Conky Whallop', is now available as a large print and dyslexic-friendly edition. A perfect gift for an aunt, perhaps.

Another review, thank you. "A great fast moving and enjoyable romp through the suburbs and centre of Birmingham - with Zombies. Will the guy get the girl? If so, how and when? Short and sweet. Loved it."
I saw another TV programme featuring a writer and it reminded me of when I had writer's block.

This quick post ought to be 100 words, but it's a lot shorter. I've blogged about drabbles over at http://davidwake.com/?p=607 because the literary form intersected with my life again.
Drabbles | July 4, 2022 by David Wake Drabbles I was in Norwich recently and ended up reading the local paper, the Eastern Daily Press to be exact. I had a great time meeting real people at the recent Burton Sci-Fi con. Thanks to Angeline Trevena for organising it. I signed a few books, met a number of fans and caught up with my fellow authors – wonderful.
