With the sleeves having a Floating construction, it’s important to repair each layer of mesh individually, since if they are caught together the swingy movement of the sleeves would be lost. But it’s fairly challenging! A little slip of white paper inserted between the layers helps.

This afternoon’s project- this fab 1940s frock has gorgeous sleeves and peplum backed with perishes net- fortunately, a swathe of vintage net was the first thing we pulled out of the scraps bag when we went searching! So she’s already well on her way to renewal. Watch this space!
