Yellowstone Falls and Grand Prismatic Lake during a flight from Billings to Driggs yesterday. 100 plus visability. Never gets old.

We have great spring weather this week with over 100 mile visibility. Two views of the Tetons from the west side and one of a burn from the 1988 Yellowstone fire. The Tetons are in the background about 125 statute miles away.

Steve Nuttle has died from complications of melanoma at his home in Pennsylvania where he moved several years ago.

I just learned of Steve’s death in the Jackson paper. I knew he had been sick but the last time I spoke with him, he was so upbeat, I assumed he was doing well.

Steve was an amazing person with talent in multiple areas. His crud skiing was the best I’d ever seen and his story of being stuck for three nights and days on top of the mountain working as the tram night creature during a major storm was legendary.

Steve had a life of twists and turns so his stories was endless. He was a good friend and will be missed.

I often thought of him, not knowing he had died, while skiing these past few bluebird cruising days as we had done together many years ago. There must have been some message he was sending!

I had the opportunity to drop by Kearney Nebraska for less than 24 hours flying home in my 185. The Sand Hill Crane migration is really something to see. A half million birds stopping on their way to Canada and Alaska. They eat left over corn and grubs in the fields and rest by the river at night.
