I’m excited to share ‘Existentia’ with you today. It’s the first release from my upcoming ‘Ecstasy’ album and it features the very brilliant Homayoun Shajarian in our first collaboration.

You all know that Ecstasy has been years in the making, and when you hear ‘Existentia’ you’ll understand why. I developed this work from its inspiration, to the composition, to the orchestration, to the arrangement. As I was composing, I heard the voice of Homayoun Shajarian for the Persian part. I knew it had to be performed by him and no one else.

‘Existentia’ features over 100 musicians from four continents with master performers on 30 different traditional instruments. You’ll hear the rich sounds of 2 choirs from India and Morocco, and a philharmonic strings section from Europe that adds a Western classical element to the work. The result is a monumental, all-live, all-acoustic production that perfectly captures my vision.

‘Existentia’ is a mystical journey, both musically and lyrically. Drawn from the timeless wisdom of Rumi and Bayazid Bastami, the lyrics narrate the unfolding of the path within, that same path that is evoked by the music. My heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to its realisation.

We’ve come a long way together on this musical journey. And I’m delighted that with the release of ‘Existentia’, you can now experience the next step on this path with me.
