Not Alone at The Beach

Are YOU curious about consent? Do you know how to GIVE and RECEIVE consent? Do you know your sexual obligation to receive consent with your partner(s)?

If you didn’t know the answer to those questions, join us this THURSDAY (12/1) from 6-7pm on ZOOM to answer those questions!

Not Alone @ the Beach has developed “Every Kiss Begins with Consent”, a 45-minute interactive workshop where we discuss consent within various romantic partnerships. Students will learn different strategies on how to give and ask for consent within sexual contexts. This training will discuss the definition of consent, the FIRE components of consent, and assumptions around consent. With real-life scenario practice and open peer discussion, the workshop aims to empower students to make their own sex-cessful decisions.

Join Not Alone @ the Beach and It’s On Us this Tuesday (11/15) from 6-7pm on ZOOM for a presentation on healthy relationships!

The WTF Is A Healthy Relationship Training aims to educate students on the qualities and behaviors that are consistent within healthy relationships, as well as how to recognize unhealthy behaviors before they escalate into abuse. This training includes activities and scenarios to help students identify and discuss different behaviors within both romantic and platonic relationships.

Join Not Alone @ the Beach and Su Casa in learning about domestic violence, the different types of violence, warning signs, and the power and control wheel that leads to the cycle of abuse. In our presentation we discuss the barriers that victims face when leaving a violent relationship, as well as how to help a friend and be an advocate for change.

As we round out Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we wanted to talk about domestic violence prevalence rates amongst college students. Domestic violence is a deep-rooted epidemic in our society, especially on college campuses. We hope you take the time to learn, recognize, and support the strengths of survivors in our community and beyond!

Join and .wgec in welcoming It’s On Us to our campus. This presentation will be offered through Zoom on October 18th (10/18/22) from 6-7pm to talk about Online Dating Safety.

This Online Dating Safety Training is offered to help students and their peers navigate dating apps in a way that allows them to identify unsafe situations and behaviors that may lead to dating violence. This training also includes opportunities for students to discuss ways to leave a date if they start to feel uncomfortable.

This is a workshop that aims to answer the following questions: What is trauma? What events can cause trauma? What are the impacts of traumatic events? How do we cope with these impacts?

Join Not Alone @ the Beach, the WGEC, and the YWCA-GLA for a Healthy Relationships discussion. This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we have the honor of hosting YWCA Greater Los Angeles Area here at CSULB. The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women through advocacy and social justice. They are huge contributors to the fight against domestic violence and sexual assault in our community both in our Long Beach community and beyond.

Join NATB in recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). DVAM came from The Day of Unity, which was initially only supposed to last a day, and was meant for domestic violence advocates to connect with each other and share ideas. However, this event was expanded to a week of festivities and events commemorating those who have survived and died from domestic violence. Then, in October 1987, it was expanded to a month. In 1989, Congress recognized it as a national holiday.

In October we shed a light on Domestic Violence both on and off campus. We will have events talking about online dating, trauma, healthy relationships, and overall health.

Not Alone @ the beach is hosting a FREE event for student September 24th from 9am - 4pm with a one hour lunch break where students can get Leadership Academy credit and MVP certification! Click the link in our bio to sign-up.

Since 2015, NATB is proud to partner with MVP Strategies to offer MVP Leadership Trainings to the CSULB campus community. Under the auspices of the CSULB Leadership Academy, we offer this one-day leadership training for campus opinion leaders and influencers. The training will deepen participants’ awareness of the underlying issues and dynamics of men’s violence against women and other forms of abuse, harassment, and violence, and to inspire participants to be proactive leaders around these issues in their spheres of influence. The training is open to all CSULB students interested in honing their leadership skills in gender/power-based violence prevention, and provides transferable skills to future school, work and other professional contexts.

Completing this free MVP Training will also grant you full workshop credit towards the Leadership Academy. Additional credit options may also apply for current Leadership Academy students.
