Aside from breaking the high temperature record of 102° set back in 2020, today's high of 105 °F also became the latest 105 degree temperature on record (previously Oct 10, 1991). Additionally, we are now sitting at 128 days with 100+ °F temperatures so far this year, which is now tied for 4th most.
We are reaching high temps this year in AZ! Getting those coolers used for most of the year!
Unseasonably warm conditions will persist through the remainder of this week. Daytime highs are expected to run 10-15 degrees above normal, with temps across the lower deserts hovering around the century mark through this Saturday.

The high temperature was 114 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor this afternoon. This breaks the previous record of 111 degrees set in 2021. This is also the latest date in a calendar year that Sky Harbor has recorded a temperature of 114 degrees!

The temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport this afternoon has already reached 110°, making it the 54th day this year with temperatures of at least 110°. This breaks the previous record of 53 days set only 3 years ago.
Phoenix has now had 100 days with 100+ °F temperatures so far this year. We will continue to add to this number with temperatures warming up through the rest of the week.

[Aug 28, 2023] - Phoenix Sky Harbor had a high of 117°F today which broke the daily record by 4° and tied the hottest day ever recorded during the month of August. Yuma's high of 118°F tied their daily record. Overall, many locations saw highs between 112-118°F today.

The high temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport reached 118 degrees this afternoon, which is 12 degrees above normal. This breaks the previous daily record of 116 degrees set in 1995.

HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR! We've officially hit 119° in Phoenix, the hottest day of the year so far and the hottest day since 2017!
Phoenix is on pace to see its 19th consecutive day with highs reaching 110+ °F today, which will break the old record set back in 1974. Well above normal temperatures will continue through the rest of the week with an Excessive Heat Warning remaining in effect.
