Washington, DC’s Metropolitan police department has confirmed that a further two police officers who defended the US Capitol during the January 6 insurrection by supporters of Donald Trump have ended their own lives.
Gunther Hashida, Kyle DeFreytag, Jeffrey Smith, and Howard Liebengood were all present during the events of January 6, when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.
All four officers have been confirmed to have died by su***de in the months following the failed rebellion; all four were emergency responders to the violent protest.
Over the last week, the House select committee investigating the deadly attack on the US Capitol heard first-hand reports from officers who described how they were harassed, assaulted, and threatened with death by rioters during the attack.
The committee has vowed to find out what happened throughout the insurrection and assign responsibility for the failed uprising. However, justice may come too late for the families of police officers traumatized by the events of January 6.

BREAKING NEWS: Former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin found guilty on all charges in the death of George Floyd. He will be sentenced in eight weeks.

In their closing arguments, prosecutors asked the jurors to believe their eyes; mainly the shocking video showing George Floyd crying out for his mother while pleading for his life as Chauvin kept his knee pressed to his neck for almost ten minutes until he stopped breathing.

Chauvin's attorney's, however, urged the jury to believe the Bu****it of the Blue, mainly that Floyd died from a combination of drugs and pre-existing conditions that had nothing to do with Chauvin's knee. The defense described Chauvin as a "reasonable officer" and told the jury they must consider the "totality of the circumstances" which is a legal phrase that has allowed thousands of so-called reasonable officers to get away with murder in the past.
