Hi all
Junior Referee training is definitely THURSDAY from 4:45 onwards as per picture.
(Facebook has for some reason decided that we are in the time zone of the east coast of America 🙄😆)
No rest for the Referees...
This week sees our Junior Referee training night on Thursday ready for the kick off of Pathways on Friday night!
Congratulations to our Referees appointed to Saturday's Grand Finals. We are looking forward to a fantastic day to complete the senior season. Best of luck to all teams who have made it this far.
Saturday is Rugby Day!! We are all volunteers doing our best. Let’s all ensure Country Community Rugby venues are our happy places. 👍🏉
Whether you are playing in a match or watching from the sidelines, if you engage in Match Official abuse, expect to spend time away from the game.
This weekend, please remember to respect the match officials from both inside and outside of the fence.
All welcome!
Without our referees, there is no game.
This weekend, please remember to respect the match officials from both inside and outside of the fence.
DAVE DOHERTY - LIFE MEMBER
RCRA recently announced the life membership of Dave Doherty, recognising not just his years of refereeing but also his passion in developing referees as a referee coach. It is fitting then to announce that Dave has been offered the opportunity to join the referee coaching panel for the Australian Rugby Shield competition to be held in September.
Congratulations to our newest life member.
RCRA have had the pleasure of hosting Referees and Referee coaches from throughout country Queensland for the Qld Country Championships this weekend. What a great team! Congratulations to all our team on their appointments over the weekend, their professionalism on and off the field has been a pleasure to watch.
Thank you to the Queensland Country Rugby Referees Association for all your hard work in bringing the team together.
RCRA wish RCL board member and former Colts president Jeff Ballinger a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with Jeff and his family and the Colts Rugby community at this time.
Players keep playing because of the enjoyment they get from being on the field and it's no different for referees. Ensuring our referees have a great experience will mean that we have referees for the future.

Any current or former referees who remember where their whistle is?

Thanks to The Capricornian for their financial assistance to purchase our tents etc. And of course to Bettapork, Brumby’s Allenstown, All Things Accounting and Security Shield.
What if I told you that there is an easy way to improve your game ten-fold without doing extra training - interested? Of course you are!
Learning the laws means you know exactly what you can and can't do as well as understanding the Referee's interpretation, and the easiest way to brush up on the laws is to attend REFEREE READY.
An online Referee Ready course will be held on MONDAY 01 MAY starting at 7pm. Highly recommended for all coaches, players and of course anyone interested in refereeing (always welcome).
Register via the Learning Centre (where you go to do Smart Rugby).
*Dylan doesn't know the laws, Dylan is confused, don't be like Dylan - do Referee Ready!
