Blue Bird
I saw this guy attacking its reflection in our shed's window. So I quickly dismounted my camera from the tripod and handheld the beefy 600mm lens. It's not something that I can do for long but it was fun and worth it!
European Starling
Turkey vulture
Blue bird of happiness!
It was the first real warm weather here in Pennsylvania. The birds seemed to be gathering in pairs and looking for a proper nesting site. I need to get my bird houses up soon!

A Chickadee-dee-dee-dee-dee holds on during a gust of wind!
A little bird joke there.
Mini pun.
Ok I'm done.

A Dark-eyed Junco takes a break on a small branch.
Starlings are creepy looking birds.
It was the end of the day. The sun just went below the horizon, taking golden hour with it. And since the birds were left in the shade of twilight, I turned the camera upwards.
I haven't taken a photo of the moon in so long.
House Finch perched on top of a lone branch.
We don't get a lot of snow here in Pennsylvania, and I've been OK with that most of my life. But as I get older, the more I enjoy the seasons. And when it does snow, I try to make the most of it.
This Cardinal hung around for quite a long time, giving me every opportunity to take it's photo.

A Mourning Dove flies into the sunset
A Great Egret hopped from one bush to another. Fortunately for me, a bush closer to the camera! I'm so used to birds flying away that this was a pleasant surprise.
I'm still going through all the photos I took during our trip to Florida. Today, we got 8 inches of snow. As nice as that is, I'm ready for the warmth!

Great Egret
I'm slowly getting through all my Florida photos. I didn't take a computer with me so I just loaded the photos onto the memory card in my camera. Just slightly over 1500 photos. Nothing crazy.. Weeki Wachee, FL

Common Yellowthroat Warbler
A beautiful little bird that can be seen over most of the Eastern and central United States. This little friend was spotted in Homosassa, Florida while on vacation. You know.. as I ignored my family for a bit.

Great Egret
I was blessed with the opportunity to watch a few of these in Weeki Wachee, Florida. As many as time would allow! But there wasn't much time because I was there with family with much more important family things to do.

Did you know Blue Jays eat babies? If you're just aimlessly scrolling social media, here are some fun facts to at least make it sort of educational!
Blue Jay: Fun Facts Probably the most recognizable feathered friend in the northeast (at least where I am in Pennsylvania), the Blue Jay is a staple in everyone's backyard. Its beautiful and vibrant blue feathers, along with its mohawk type crest, make it unable to mistake it for anything else. There's just no other bi...
Hanging out with my winter backyard bird friends 🐦
White-breasted Nuthatch
I wanted to get closer but I already had the tripod setup watching other birds. Next time I won't be so lazy.
A Herring Gull catches its breakfast.
I'm on a mission to find a wood duck but this location provided a gaggle of gulls. No less therapeutic. I could sit on the shore line all day and watch the wildlife that comes my way.

A Golden-Crowned Kinglet.
I spent the better part of 30 minutes just sitting under an evergreen. Just watching different birds come and go. This little lady seemed to stick around the longest.

The Northern Harrier has been on my unofficial list of animals I want to photograph before I die. I honestly didn't realize I wouldn't have to travel to see them.
Northern Harrier: My First Crouched down at the edge of the water, looking through my new to me, used 600mm, I was failing my search for the camera shy wood duck. Instead, there were a plethora of Canadian Geese and what I have always called sea gulls. "Rats with wings." I can still hear my dad say those words as they swooped...
