How often do you wish you were somewhere else in your career, your love life, or your goals? Striving to be somewhere else in the future serves us (when we do it correctly), but punishing ourselves for not having gotten there yet does not. All we can do is believe that each and every day we have done the best that we could under the circumstances, and believe that where we are in this moment is not only good enough, but a necessary step in reaching our goals.
Many folks don't realize how much resentment they actually hold onto, not just towards others but towards themselves. When we fail to meet a goal of ours or don't perform in line with our expectations of self, we can become caught in a vicious cycle of retribution in the form of self-berating and self-doubt. Forgiveness heals not just grudges between friends, but grudges we hold towards ourselves. How can you forgive yourself today?
Developing a healthy relationship with our emotions can be difficult. One of the things I focus on in Reiki sessions is connecting individuals with feelings and emotions they may not know they have been holding onto. How can we experience our emotions--even the negative ones-- without allowing them to consume us? Contact me to chat more about your emotional wellbeing and how it can be tended to.
Sometimes we hold our beliefs and values so close to our identities that others' beliefs and values can feel like a threat. The anger and frustration spent on someone who will not agree with us can be overwhelming. How can we meet conflicting perspectives and viewpoints with empathy? What is the value in making space in our lives for folks with varying perspectives? I ponder these questions and come to the idea that other people's realities do not make mine less valid.
In line with the last post on progress -- I often get lost comparing myself to others, especially folks in my field. Why have they achieved something I haven't? Why has it taken me longer? When will I be where they are? I remind myself that the path I walk is different and unique to me, just as theirs is to them. Negative comparison like this does not serve me -- it serves my anxiety and self-doubt. Contact me to replace these questions with ones that serve growth, empowerment, and progression.
We train ourselves to celebrate the wins--big or small--but how have we taught ourselves to deal with the losses? Loss doesn't have to be a step back or a move in the wrong direction. Progress is not relentlessly linear. Some days and weeks will be better than others when it comes to meeting our goals, but the key is continuing to push ourselves towards whatever it is we're working for. In this mindset, loss becomes less about punishing ourselves and more about acknowledging the ebbs and flows in life.
Consider writing these down on a sticky-note and putting them on your mirror. Gratitude is the key to positive thinking. To be grateful for what we have opens the world to new possibilities of joy, contentment, and happiness.

Your body affirmation for today -- I love my body as it is today. Too often we put conditions on our love for our bodies ("I'll love my body when..." "I'll love my body after..." ) or rely on other people to help us love our bodies. How can we begin to feel love, warmth, and compassion to our bodies in the moment and as they are? How can we begin to make that love unconditional? Start by repeating this mantra in the mirror in the morning: I love my body as it is today.
Power (n): the ability to act or produce an effect. What powers do you have, and what effects are you producing? How can you produce positivity, love, and joy today?

Rejection doesn't have to be all bad. How can you learn from your mistakes? How can you take rejection as an opportunity for growth and resilience?
Replace "I must," "I should," and "I have to" with "I choose" and watch how many things begin to feel like a choice rather than an obligation.

A nice little mantra for today -- as I inhale peace, I exhale release. Remember to let go of things that do not serve you today.
You are more than your anxious and repetitive thoughts.
How is your inner child doing? Your inner child is your child-like aspect of Self, where you revisit early childhood memories, look to children for child-like spirit, and embrace innocence. Look to your inner child for youthful playfulness and dreams.
Today's reminder and affirmation: be patient with yourself. We cannot slow nor speed up time. We can only allow ourselves grace and forgiveness.
Today's affirmation: every cell in my body resonates with energy and well-being.
