What are Chakras? 💫

Chakra (in Sanskrit) means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.

There are seven main chakras situated along the spine, from the base to the crown of your head. They are thought to provide subtle energy that helps your organs, mind, and intellect work at their best level.

But what happens when our chakras become blocked? You may feel physical tension or pain in the area of the body where a certain chakra lies, or you may feel consumed by a specific negative emotion. It can lead to difficulties with concentration, sleeping, lack of motivation and feelings of helplessness, among many other things.

There are many easy ways to unblock your chakras, my favourite techniques are:

🤎 Yoga
When a chakra is blocked, movement can be so beneficial to releasing it. Yoga is a fantastic way to do this as it encourages the flow of energy back into your body.

🤎 Mudras
A hand Mudra is a symbolic gesture used in Hinduism and Buddhism to stimulate the flow of prana (life force or energy) throughout the body.

🤎 Essential Oils
Using essential oils is a great way to rebalance your chakras. Burning these oils in your home is a way you can work to unblock your chakras yourself.

🤎 Nutrition
Each chakra correlates with certain foods so including them in your diet can go a long way with rebalancing your energy system.

🤎 Go out into nature
One of the easiest ways to unblock your chakras. Time outdoors, walking barefoot in the grass, is a wonderful way to reconnect with nature and absorb its healing energy – keeping you grounded and at peace.

🤎 Breathwork
Breathwork with intention is very effective for restoring your chakras to their natural and harmonious state.

Through our Inner Glow practices, each week we will work with different elements and chakras, balancing your energy to get you glowing top to tail, from the inside out ✨

This vibrant vinyasa class will leave you glowing from the inside out. We will be working with the elements and chakras alongside the moon cycles to help you fill up your cup, and restore your inner glow through mindful movement.

It is a class for all levels, designed to release tension from all areas of the body, and build strength to support you where needed.

Aligned chakras and a healthy glow are simply a natural side effect of this particular style of yoga.

Exciting news 🌟

I am delighted to announce we have a new yoga home at the gorgeous Kaiako Studio ✨

Located just off of the John Lewis roundabout on Ashley Road in Parkstone, you will find this petite heaven 💕

Freshly refurbished, our new studio space is fully equip with high quality mats, straps, bolsters, blocks and blankets. So although you are more than welcome to bring your own, the only thing you need to turn up with is yourself, in some comfortable, stretchy clothing with a water bottle in hand.

There is free parking outside the studio (for 1 hour - or free after 7pm) 🚙

At the back of the studio we have a cloakroom, a kitchen area - for you to re-fill any tea’s or water bottles ☕️ and a toilet 🚻

The studio space itself is clean and clear, we have an air purifier with
aircon or heating, mood lighting, and a few little friends 🌱

Our classes will be starting with Inner Glow Yoga Flow on Tuesday evenings 7:30- 8:30pm (booking link in bio: more information on this class very soon)

Moving into Ta**us season, it is a time to ground our dreams into reality, and it couldn’t be a more perfect time for us to have a new yoga home to settle into to do so.

I am so delighted to be sharing this beautiful space with you, and I can’t wait to see you all there soon 🥰🙏🏻
