Did you know there’s a surprise in the genealogy of Jesus? A surprise because He was virgin-born?

Did you know that God made an everlasting covenant with King David that promised the Messiah would one day sit on his throne (Ps. 89:4, 36-37)? Did you also know that God later cursed the kingly bloodline of David because of Jeconiah's sins (Jeremiah 22:30)? So the question to ask is this: "How could Jesus be the heir to David’s throne if the royal line was cursed?" Not to worry.

Matthew’s gospel opens by demonstrating how Jesus' genealogy was traced through the kingly line of David's descendants all the way to Joseph, proving that Jesus had the legal right to the throne.

Luke’s account traces Jesus' genealogy through the bloodline of another son of David (Nathan), which ends with Mary’s father, Heli.

This means that Jesus was a blood descendant of David with a legal right to the throne, thereby sidestepping the curse! Isn't it amazing how God can discipline Jeconiah for his sins and curse the kingly line of David, yet side-step that curse to cause His own Son to inherit the throne of David?! But nothing is impossible for the Lord.

Jesus is the King of Israel, the King of kings, Savior, and Messiah who alone is the rightful heir to David’s throne! Praise the Lord!!

Revelation 19:6, "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth."

In Memory of our Precious Sis. Valerie…

07/08/2023

Standing for truth can bring the ire of the world. They take aim and shoot the evil one's flaming arrows straight in our direction.

The devil's crowd is never going to like us if we are faithful to Jesus. We have to accept that. In fact, we have to realize that when the devil's crowd is hostile to us, it means we must be doing something right. Other people's opinions of us don't really matter. It's only God's opinion that matters.

Always remember that no matter how people treat you, God's way is not just the best way, it is the only way that leads to eternal life in Heaven. And while people are speaking ill of you, God notices and is very proud of you!

John 12:43, "For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God."
