Alex jogger shorts! These are on to their third little owner! I’m pretty sure they’re not so brightly yellow anymore, but they’re still super comfortable, ready to pack newfound treasures!

I know all the options for the Flex raglan sweater can be a bit overwhelming. Especially when you add the Shuffle hoods & collars add-on to the mix! These 2 patterns together can be mixed and matched into over 15 different versions!

But when in doubt (or overwhelmed!) I’d advise to select one main (printed) fabric and one supporting (single colored) fabric and go for the Flex colorblock and one of the basic hood options of the Shuffle hoods add-on! Just like this cute version made!

Any of you doing some deadline sewing for your holidays? ✋🏼 Not a year has passed by that I haven’t whipped up some last minute Geo tank tops. One could argue that I still have some tank tops from last years and probably don’t need any, but I just love to play around with the fun options and quickly sew up a colorful version to kick-off my summer free-time!

The Flex raglan sweater (in combination with the Shuffle hood add-on) is my go-to pattern for fall-winter sewing for my kids - next to a basic version, it also comes with a cool colorblock option! But it’s also a great canvas to explore your own colorblocking ideas! Marie came up with some truly inspiring ideas! Which one is your favorite? 😍

When I designed the Edge fold top & dress, I was going for a garment one could easily dress up or down, an easy but interesting sew with a lot of sass. Nandita took her Edge fold dress up another notch by combining such awesome contrasting fabrics! Simply divine!

🍌 Bananas! When it comes to bananas, I prefer the slightly green ones - not too soft yet with a taste of “green”. But I’m also not against letting some of them “accidentally” turn too brown for “normal” consumption…..the best excuse to bake a banana chocolate cake! Buuuut, I digress! This shift tee by Jenny is deliciously inspirational in so many ways!

You guys, this Shift tee by Dania .dropn.studs - the combination of colors and print.....just perfection! When designing the Shift tee, I was after a great scrapbusting "basic" raglan tee with the signature Misusu twist. I literally shifted all the seams and ended up with the perfect blank canvas to showcase all those beloved scraps!

I'm always working on new patterns ideas, but the Misusu patterns catalogue already holds so many fun patterns! I'm trying to figure out what I can change/add to our existing patterns, so you will be able to get the most out of your patterns. Think small here - what feature would you like to see added to what pattern?⁠

Cropping tops is probably one of the easiest hacks you can do to a pattern! Marianne cropped our Flex raglan sweater and added a drawstring to the waistband! I don't know about you, but I'm adding this Flex hack to the to-sew list for this fall!⁠

Sunday tip: whenever your kid is uncooperative in modelling his/her new mommy makes, simply say the following: "Think about your boy/girl friend!". Even when said kid doesn't have a boy/girl friend, it might just result in uncontrollable, slightly embarrassed, but pure laughter! Be ready to take full advantage of this short but sweet opportunity! SNAP! 🤣⁠

A colorblocked high-waisted Doris skirt made for the perfect companion to this cropped hacked Rowan tee! I had a few scraps of lavender french terry left from another project and I could just squeeze out the front panels in some left-over green and yellow french terry too! Perfect fresh and fun summer outfit for my girl!⁠

I thought this modestly cropped Rowan Tee with our high-waisted Doris skirt would make for minimal belly button peekaboo's, but I just spotted her with this skirt pulled down to the lowest rise you can possibly imagine.....😂⁠

I also stuck to the Rowan tee when I promised to make something for my 6 year old teenager. She's all about the crop tops and showing off her belly button these days, so I hacked the Rowan Tee into a (sort of) modest cropped top. 😅 This was a very satisfying and quick little hack! I shortened the long sleeves and added an elastic to cinch at the waist. And the 6YO teenager approved!⁠

I'm slowly but steadily working my way through my Ansje X Misusu fabric stash - 10 items finished and counting! With bold graphic prints like this, I keep going back to trusted basics, like our free Rowan tee pattern. I love how the oversized fit works with the big print. I also had some pink twill fabric left from my Expo zip shorts (see previous post) and I could just squeeze out some Wander shorts!⁠

I made the top during testing, using only scraps, thinking it wouldn't get much wear. But boy was I wrong! Only waiting for warmer days! ⁠

All the hues of blues - blue was a popular color among the Edge fold top & dress testers! And I totally understand, you can never go wrong with blue! Bernice , Katie , Grace .grace and Kadri made some lovely versions of the Edge fold top!⁠

The side bodice of the Edge fold top & dress provides perfect opportunity to combine different fabrics. Paula Jean brilliantly combined sequin fabric with ribknit, Amy cheekily used some polka dotted mesh combined with a bold graphic print. But you can also just stick to a colorblock like Carol and Monique did! You can never go wrong with a colorblock in my book!⁠
