Bouquets are the closest flowers that stays near the wedding couple and are the flowers that are in most of the pictures, that's why sooooo much care and preparation go into them.

They are the ones that get first priority in my flower fridge space and are the arrangements that I spend the most time on. The best stems are picked from the bunch and are carefully prepped and crafted into the bouquet you hold throughout the day.

Bouquets will tend to look their best right up until the reception. The reality is, the hotter/humid the weather is, the longer the bouquets are out of water and the more they hit and bump into things, will all affect how long the flowers in the bouquet will last.

This reality about bouquets is something to consider especially if you're on a budget and would like to make the bouquets part of the bridal table decoration. Your florist can suggest what flowers works best out of water and some care tips throughout the day to help your bouquets last longer.

Keeping them in water, in a nice cool place right up until you need them will definitely help. Xx

✨️Lets talk Statement Pieces✨️
When allocating your budget, instead of spreading your budget evenly in all spaces, consider investing on statement pieces.

?WHY?

Statement pieces create a wow factor in the space..it's an area that you and your guests are captivated by and will remember your wedding for.

As long as there's one statement piece in the area, then that's enough to be a wow factor in the room that you can go simpler everywhere else.

?WHERE?

There are 3 spaces I particularly love making statement pieces for:

1. Entrance area: it's the first space that greets your guests and gets them excited for what's to come. I geberally like decoratibg this area with your welcome sign and seating chart with repurposed flowers and a whole heap of candles! It's also a nice piece to have during roving canapes.

2. Ceremony: an amazing arbour is great to have for that area and it can generally be repurposed to the reception. But if your ceremony is at a very decorated church, there are other spaces you can save this investment for.

3. Bridal Table area. It's the centre of the room and the centre of attention! I love decking out the bridal table with cascading flowers and candles!

If budget allows, other areas may include the bar area, staircases, hanging installs.

Statement pieces can be extravagant designs to as simple as grouping a bunch of different height candles together. It really depends on the space and budget. Get in touch to see how we can create wow factors in your space!

Classic Quicksands 😍 She's miss popular and a wedding favourite. She can be the star of the show or the supporting actress and she's generally available throughout the whole year.
Quicksands are imported so they are on the $$$ side but boy are they worth it!

Congratulations to the lovely couple Chiara and Virgil 💕😍 It was a beautiful native flower themed wedding at The Loft Jones Bay Wharf.

These beauties are 100% real and 100% bigger than the palm of my hand!
1. Pick them up from the markets at 5am
2. Take off all the packaging
3. Take off all the guard petals and leaves
4. Strip all the greens
5. Put them in boiling water
6. Put them in cold water
7. Carefully peel the petals back and fold them to get that fluffy look....do not rip the petals!!! 😭 Repeat this 2000 times
8. Cut the ends and put them in a clean bucket of water or arrangement.
9. Fridge them and hope to God they stay alive til after the wedding day!

At the end of the reception I make a huuggee effort to give away all the flowers...if you're lucky to score one of these beautiful orchids, cut the end of the stem when you get home and soak the whole thing (flowers and all) in a tub of water for a couple of hours! Orchids also drink through the flower! They'll be well hydrated and can last several weeks in a clean vase of water!
