One of the most beautiful villages in Italy, one of the villages that is about to disappear. On a small spur of tuffy rock rises Civita di Bagnoregio, a fraction of the municipality of Bagnoregio accessible only by crossing a pedestrian bridge.
Named by Bonaventura Tecchi, who was born there, "the city that dies", Civita di Bagnoregio is likely to disappear because the tufaceo hill supporting it is undermined by the continuing erosion of two streams flowing into the underlying valleys and action Rain and wind.
The fate of the place, the clump of medieval houses, the few families still living there, and the unreal landscape of clayey hills that besiege the village, make Civita di Bagnoregio a unique and enchanting place.
Cortona is located in the south-eastern part of Tuscany, on one of the most fascinating hills in the region. It overlooks the Valdichiana with magnificent stunning views of 180 degrees that reaches the Umbrian borders, and where you can enjoy the view of Lake Trasimeno. Cortona still preserves many remains of the Etruscan period, such as the ancient walls still intact. We can certainly consider Cortona a strategic place to easily reach important destinations. For example, Montepulciano (32 Km), Pienza (45 Km), Arezzo (28 km), Valdorcia (50 Km) Siena (72 km), Orvieto (95 Km), San Gimignano (117 km) Covers Umbria, Lake Trasimeno (15 Km), Perugia (45 km) and Assisi (70 km).
If you have culinary passions Cortona does your case. The center is crowded with restaurants, taverns, pizzerias that mainly offer typical Tuscan cuisine. There are also excellent restaurants on the outskirts (mountain and countryside) .
There are also typical gourmet wine bars where you can have lunch or dine or just pinch here and there Tuscan cheeses and salami accompanied by excellent local wines

ORVIETO,
one of the oldest cities in Italy, dates back to Etruscan civilization: the first settlements date back to the 9th century BC. And located within the tufa caves found in the massif on which the Umbrian town stands.
We can not start our Orvietan tour from the splendid Duomo, a colorful example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture, rich in works of art.
After admiring this wonder, what to do in Orvieto? Surely immersed in the timeless atmosphere of the Underground City, which was entirely derived from cavities excavated by the inhabitants over the centuries, full of wells and caves; The most famous is probably the St. Patrick's Well, next to the municipal gardens located within the Fortress of the Albornoz.
The well, an extraordinary civil engineering work of the sixteenth century, was excavated at the wish of Clement VII, a refugee in Orvieto during the sack of Rome in 1527. Its ex*****on, intended for survival in the event of siege or natural disasters, was entrusted to Antonio da Sangallo, assisted by Giovanni Battista da Cortona. Its dimensions are impressive: 62 meters deep, it has a diameter of 13.5 meters. There are two spiral spiral stairs that never meet; The two staircases, consisting of 248 steps each, receive light from 72 windows creating a surreal atmosphere.
But Orvieto is best known for its wine, the famous Grechetto, but also Trebbiano and Sangiovese that are produced in huge quantities, and some excellence such as the Muffa Nobile, produced doc.
Come and discover what to do, what to eat and what to see in the beautiful setting of Lake Trasimeno with our little minis!

Montalcino, west of Pienza, is a beautiful historic town nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Val'Orcia Natural Park and renowned all over the world for the extraordinary production of the precious Brunello di Montalcino.
The hamlet has remained virtually untouched since the 16th century. Once you reach the top of Montalcino, a real spectacle opens in front of your eyes: a continuous succession of sinuous hills dotted here and there with yellow and red flowers, ancient oaks, picturesque olive trees, panoramic streets of Countryside that wind through harmonious vineyards and cypresses isolated here and there.
Perched on the top of a hill, south of Tuscany and not far from Siena, Montepulciano is a medieval town of rare beauty that surely deserves to be visited! A unique hamlet with elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, beautiful squares and small hidden corners. From Montepulciano, besides, it enjoys a fabulous and endless panorama on the Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana.
The strategic location of Montepulciano makes it the ideal place to discover this beautiful corner of Tuscany. The harmonious Pienza, the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni, the famous Montalcino and many other enchanting villages are all within easy reach in a short time.
Recently Montepulciano has become a popular tourist destination with a remarkable increase in visitors, following the shooting of the famous New Moon movie, a sequel to the Twilight vampire saga.
Piazza Grande is the heart of Montepulciano and the stage of the city's main events, including Il Bravio delle Botti, held every year in August, and much more. A walk through the streets of Montepulciano is the best way to discover the city and its attractions and at the same time admire the incredible view of the surrounding countryside covered by the fabulous vineyards that produce the famous Noble!
The Marmore Waterfall is a controlled flow cascade, nestled in a large natural park, one of the highest in Europe, with a total height of 165 m divided into three jumps. It is located about 7.5 km from Terni, in Umbria, almost at the end of Valnerina, the long valley dug by the Black River. The name comes from calcium carbonate salts on rocks that are similar to white marble.
Cascade waters are used for the production of hydroelectric power. The waterfall is therefore not always open at full speed. When it is open to a minimum flow the waterfall discovers the rocks and vegetation below.
An acoustic signal warns of the opening of the control screens, and within a few minutes the capacity increases to give the known appearance. Access to the park is possible from the bottom (lower belvedere) and from above (top belvedere) with payment of a ticket. Several paths run through the park and you can walk between the two belvedere, both uphill and downhill.
At night the waterfall is always illuminated by an evolving last-generation LED plant, which guarantees a beam of light and uniform lighting.
A Franciscan convent founded by Saint Francis of Assisi in 1218, who planted a laurel and rose bush here and caused a water spring to gush, it is called after a marsh plant, the Scarza, which the saint used to build himself a hut. The Church apse houses a fresco of first half of the eighteenth century depicting a levitating Saint Francis. In 1956 the convent complex was bought and restored by milan architect Tomaso Buzzi (1900-1981) who, between 1958 and 1978, planned and erected his own idela city, envisaged as a theatrical machine, next to the convent, Buzzi's city, which includes as many as 7 theatres, culminates in the Acropolis, a wealth of buildings consisting of a number of archetypes which, empty inside and equipped with as many volumes as one might find in a termites nest, reveal a number of visitas. A somewhat esoteric relationship was thus established between the convent (the holy city) and the theatrical workshops (the lay city), both of them laden with symbols and secrets, references and quotations. Drawing its inspiration frolm Francesco Colonna' Hypnerotomachia Poliphili (1499), the style best interpreting its licence is the neo-manierism he identified in the use of stairs in all directions, the deliberate disproportion of some parts, a few gargoyles, the heaping together of buildings and monuments, resulting in a whole characterised by a surreal, labyrinthine, evocative, geometric, astronimical and magic nature.
"The green heart of italy" is a company spontaneously born, between one photo and another, without any pretense except that in our little one to let our beloved country know.
Who is better than the one who lives there, has grown up, can you tell us the corners of his city, those unmissable beings, the flavors associated with his territory and reveal the "tourist traps"?
