How are you spending your weekend? I have 1 more Camp Star quilt to bind before I start sharing the rest of the samples I made, but our weather is SO NICE this weekend it feels impossible to stay inside and sewā¦ Iāll get to it eventually. šāļø
The Camp Star quilt pattern will be available April 25th!

Was there a specific pattern or design that drew you to quilting? The Lone Star did that for me. It has been my favorite design since I can remember. Even before I was interested in sewing.
The 3rd quilt I ever made was a queen size Lone Star with y seams. I had no clue what y seams were, I didnāt know how to cut or sew on the bias, and my 1/4ā seam allowance was not consistent. But I stumbled through it and itās a quilt that we use everyday (10+ years later!).
I created the Lone Star Workshop so I could help take the frustration out of making your own Lone Star. So even if you havenāt cut or sewn on a bias or are new to y seams - you can do it!
See all available workshops here: https://plainsandpine.mykajabi.com/store
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Does cutting and sewing on a bias intimidate you? Is a Star quilt on your quilt bucket list? Do you learn best by step by step video instruction? I can help!
āļøRegistration is now open for all Plains and Pine Workshops! āļø
The Hyalite Star is one of the 5 workshops. It is one of my favorites. (But they are really all my favorites which is why I created Workshops for themā¦)

The Wild Homestead Star is one of the 5 Workshops that is opening up this Friday. I designed this pattern to be a unique, scrap-busting quilt. I know I often find it hard to part with even those odd shaped scraps from a favorite printā¦ but then what? Well this pattern is designed to use scraps of ALL shapes and sizes. I made this quilt last winter and itās definitely one of my favorites still. Itās like a little āI Spyā quilt.
In the Wild Homestead Workshop - I will walk you through each step of making this pattern. Want more info? Learn more here: https://plainsandpine.com/pages/workshop
Let me know if you have any questions on this pattern or the Workshop. And swipe to see a review from .binding who took the Workshop last year.

So far Iāve used 12/24 of my temperature quilt fabrics. The grays, purples and blues are the coldest (in that order) and the yellows are the warmest Iāve used so far. Hoping to start dipping into more warm temps soon!
This free pattern is available through the link in my profile and on my website. Iāve been enjoying tracking temps and seeing what color combinations are each day.
Updated from January 1, 2024 - March 14, 2024.
Two more days to save 20% on the Backcountry Star quilt pattern! And bonus if you order the printed pattern Iāll throw in a pin and sticker while supplies last.

Very surreal and humbling to see a quilt I made hanging among so many amazing quilts. I am so blown away that it is even at the show let along won a ribbon in the Modern Traditionalism category. š„ŗ Thank you for the honor, !
! My name is Lindlee and I am excited to see all the quilts and quilt people so soon! āļø If you see me please donāt hesitate to say āhiā. Iāll be wandering around (maybe with a slight overwhelmed look on my face) hopefully later today (Thursday) and all day Friday and Saturday.
The creative direction behind these photos: ārun away from me while holding the quilt above your head and moving your arms up and downā. š My advice: take your quilt photos with a friend so you spend the whole time laughing at yourself.

This was one of those designs that sat on my computer for a while before I decided to do the math and bring it to life. There are lots of narrow strip sets and diamond points to match - but all worth it in my opinion.

Iām fairly new to the āmodern quiltingā world and the only quilt show Iāve entered and attended was at our local fair. (I only learned about and followed along with Quilt Con a couple years ago when it was in Phoenix.)
Around noon on October 31st I decided to enter 3 quilts to be juried into Quilt Con. I quickly took photos and wrote up my artist statements and hit submit. A few weeks later I was blown away that one was selected for the show!
Iām really looking forward to seeing āmy peopleā this week and seeing all the amazing quilts in the show. If you are attending I hope to see you there!

This is one of my favorite pictures. Iām sure my dad thought it was weird when I said I was bringing a quilt when I came along to check cows but he didnāt say so. The cows definitely thought it was weird, but they posed nicely. š
The Commonwealth Star quilt pattern (my 4th pattern!) is 40% off with the discount code COMMON until next Tuesday.

The Commonwealth Star is somewhere between the Homestead Star and Big Sky Star as far as difficulty. So if youāve made a handful of quilts (or the Homestead Star) then you are ready to make the Commonwealth Star. There are bias edges and points to match but they are worth it!
Use discount code COMMON to get the pattern 40% off this week!
