The Tongue leaves many clues as to what is happening within the body and also indicates if a remedy is working well or not. This is an extremely valuable skill in the toolkit of an herbalist and many traditional health practitioners.
The greatest little, under marketed herb festival in the North Country. About twenty people--2nd year. A wonderful time at the Northwoods Nature Fest in Wolverine, MI, 35 minutes south of the Mackinaw Bridge. Here are the four main presenters, myself, Jim McDonald, Amanda Campbell, and Nathan Wright--also the organizer. Wow, I've lost weight.

It's incredible to think that herbal remedies, and sweet, delicate flowers none-the-less can bring greater healing than talk therapy--until you've experienced it!
Believer or not, you'll be amazed by these stories of profound healing from trauma.
This and previous podcasts are discussions based on the insights from Amanda Nicole's book "Flowers for a Girl: Plant Medicine and Sexual Trauma"

Did you know that herbs not only help with the physical bumps, bruises and scrapes, but with emotional injuries as well!? Prepare to be amazed!!
The first of May is associated with Hawthorn, one of the "three sacred herbs of Wales" (rowan, elder, hawthorn) or the older "three magical herbs of the Celts" (oak, ash, and thorn). In most of the southern British Isles hawthorn blooms around May 1 and is associated with this day celebrating the return of spring. It is still celebrated (mostly for the fun of it) in Europe and elsewhere, while for some pagans it is a serious Holiday. Modern people, not living close to the Earth, have their Earth Day. The Soviet Union made it into the “worker’s day.” Originally, the day was the halfway point between spring solstice and summer equinox. Well . . . whatever we believe, we thought it a fun day and a great bunch of herbs to think about. - Matthew
Another story to inspire and perhaps even guide your path to making your love of herbalism your profession!
