Grunge City Rollers
Grunge City Rollers consists of a women's team and a Fresh Meat team. The Newbee Yatches is our Women's Fresh Meat team.

We at Grunge City oppose systemic violence and human rights violations upon communities and people of color. We oppose the murders of unarmed Black adults, youth and children by police officers in communities throughout this country. We have their names, lives, and their families in our hearts as we stand in solidarity with this movement. We acknowledge the institutional and systemic racism within society/our criminal justice system which leads to the incarceration of minorities, along with daily occurrences of police harassment and intimidation that disproportionately targets communities of color.
We actively seek to be agents of change for racial justice as we research, listen, and learn from our community. We wish to promote critical dialogues within our league along with other leagues about how racism and other forms of structural oppression and inequality affects roller derby as a whole. As a league, we are dedicated to promoting and supporting human rights and justice for people of color.
Silence and inaction contribute to the ongoing, deep rooted, social inequalities. Please consider donating any spare funds to the following campaigns to show support:

Thank you to those allies, supporters, and protesters who have performed the labor to make this list, these resources, and our learning possible. We are always open to feedback on how to be better allies. As a league that was formed on inclusivity, we will always do what is best for those who skate with us to feel welcomed and safe.

We would like to wish a very happy birthday to Queen Diamond! Though she has only been with us a short while, the impact this amazing human being has had in the team has been immeasurable. Always positive and always inspiring greatness as a teammate as well as leading practices. This birthday has been especially tough being away from friends and family back east, but just know you are a part of the GC family now!
Oh and did we mention she's a guitarist for a kick-ass metal band?!?!?
"I think getting older is hard on its own but then you realize when you're so far from family that you'll have less and less new memories going forward while you also have less and less time to make em'. It teaches ya to really cherish what you have and make the future memorable in other ways." - Queen Diamond

Carnage Asada, originally from Maryland and primarily a Jammer, he has played roller derby since 2005 and has played with New York Shock Exchange through multiple MRDA Championships. Carnage has also played with Mohawk Valley Roller Derby before moving to WA and now skates with Puget Sound Outcasts. He has coached multiple teams and has run clinics and guest coached with several teams internationally.
Hailing from NYC Queen Diamond, primarily in a blocker/pivot role, has skated on WFTDA, MRDA, and MADE teams. She coached Mohawk Valley Roller Derby last season while living in Upstate, NY before moving to WA. She has helped run clinics, guest coached teams, and enjoys learning/doing any role roller derby has to offer.
One of our favorite Grunge City players, Grandpa Wrecksie, was selected to represent, at this years RollerCon.
They will be skating with Q***r Skate Alliance, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

This Thursday, we have the privilege of being coached by Rogers from the Vancouver Murder!
Here is a message from him.
Hello!
For those that don't know me, I currently skate for the Vancouver Murder, and before that I was with the Outcasts for almost 4 seasons. I also coached the Throttle Rockets for two seasons, and Rain of Terror for one.
This will be a blocker focused practice, but don't worry jammers, there will be plenty for you to do. For the first half of practice, we will focus finding on your edges and lateral movement. After that, we will work on our tripods (especially pockets) and then individual offense on tripods (especially against pockets).
Hope to see you Thursday!

Our first group of Grunge City Rollers, have landed safely in Argentina, and they are checking out the local wildlife at the Canal de Beagle.
