To those looking to go through fall of 2023 sorority recruitment at MTU:
Hi everyone! My name is Josie Kalepp, and I’m the vice president of membership (also known as recruitment chair) for MTU sorority Phi Delta Chi. I’m a 4th year chemical engineering major from Appleton, WI, and I like to spend my free time hiking, making jewelry, cooking, or hanging out with my sisters and my cat!
I went through formal sorority recruitment my first semester at MTU in fall of 2020, and my experience was unique as you might imagine. Like most of the sisters of Phi Delta Chi, I had no intentions on joining a sorority when I initially came to tech, but decided to sign up for recruitment after K-Day out of a desire to make the most of my college experience (and because really, I had nothing to lose, might as well!)
That decision I made on a whim would turn out to be one of the best decisions of my life, and would define the entirety of my college career. Coming into my last year at MTU, I cannot imagine what my time here would’ve looked like without the friendships I’ve formed within my organization- friendships I know will last a lifetime.
I am so so excited to meet all of the potential new members going through recruitment this year, and I hope to make the process as inviting, inspiring, and exciting as it was for me! Take it all in and enjoy every minute, because I wish I would walk through the doors of Phi Delta Chi for the first time all over again.
With love,
Josie Kalepp
