It's snowy on the Säntis this year... which means lots of snow melt to come down to the lake. Will we have the same scenario I used in Problems at the Lakeside Hotel, when the lake flooded? It happened in 1999... Watch this space!

Rekordhohe Schneemengen am Säntis: Droht bald ein Hochwasser? Fast 7 Meter hoch türmt sich der Schnee auf dem Säntis. Viel Schnee bedeutet aber auch ein grösseres Hochwasser-Risiko.

I had a lovely day in Zürich with writers Louise Mangos and Alison Baillie yesterday. We put the the book world to rights over lunch as usual and walked by the lake, which looks deceptively summery, though it was freezing. Note the winter jackets, and it was woolly hat off for the pic. :-) Back to my woman's contemporary wip today, and with a bit of luck I'll have it finished by the end of the month. Have a lovely weekend! ☀

After a terrible day on the paperback front yesterday (read ALL about it on my blog at the weekend), I went to a book event in St Gallen, given by the author of this great book. Helen Wallimann is a Swiss writer who grew up in England, where her parents ran several hotels, including the Savoy, during and after WWII. The book is richly illustrated so paperback only, and full of humorous anecdotes - a fascinating insight into London hotel life in the 1940s onward.
