Computer pioneer Lynn Conway passed away at the age of 86. Her story is nothing short of remarkable. Conway helped pioneer early supercomputers at IBM but was fired after she transitioned. She went “stealth” and had to rebuild her career from the ground up, starting as a contract programmer at Xerox with “no experience.” Then, she did it all over again, pioneering VLSI—a groundbreaking technology that allowed for microchips to be made small enough to fit in your pocket, paving the way for smartphones and personal computers. But have you heard of Lucy Hicks Anderson?

She was born in 1886 and lived her entire life as a woman until she passed away in 1954. She was a commodity to the community so much so she gained the help of some very prominent figures in her area when she eventually got arrested for selling liquor during the prohibition at her speakeasy. When she was 59 there was some kind of STD/STI outbreak in her brothel and she was demanded to be examined where her assigned s*x at birth was revealed. She was arrested again along with her husband then ordered not to wear womens clothes again by the courts before being told they were no longer welcome in the area.

I have a feeling she did not settle down quietly in Los Angeles as her AGAB but its hard to find anything past the last ruling till her actual death 9 years after the arrest and hearings.

Looking for someone to take over this page. Preferably someone who is Japanese as I did this page so much shame as an American and created it when i was about 13 as a bet with my brother to see who’s page would grow faster. Japanese Music is a beautiful part of that culture that im not apart of but appreciate the best i can. I have not been active on this page for years but i have grown and changed a lot.

Hi im Admin/owner Liz, formerly (which was a nickname that has no ties to my real name) and if i tried to pick this page back it would not feel right as an American who has not that much knowledge of Japan and its full culture as i have never visited and only know what i know through friends who have visited or lived there, the internet, and unfortunately anime (yes i was a weeb when i created this. I still enjoy anime but i now enjoy it as a form of animated tv and not taking everything as fact like teenager me would)

I did do my best to share all types of music that came from Japan as i did and do think Japanese is a beautiful language that sounds even prettier when sung. But its about its time for me to pass the torch to someone with a background in the culture who can do this page justice and not trash it with American BS (and yeah im specifying us Americans because we are the WORST about xenophobia and appropriation)

Please comment or message the page if you are interested in takeover. I will be conducting a small interview just to make sure the theme is kept because it would suck for all of the following to have liked this page only for it to change from J music to something irrelevant.
