Gosh december already! Sorry I haven't posted in a while but time runs away and life tends to take over. Anyway I have over the last month managed to fit in a happy afternoon doing little miniature watercolours. So here's the first which I think is quite sweet, some chickens by an old blue door. Photo from Wen photos for artists. C # # #

Just wanted to share this little oil of doves at Stillingfleet Gardens. We visited there late this spring and is a wonderful afternoon out. Its just taken me about six months to get round to painting it. Hope everyone safe and well in this dreadful weather. C # # #

Hoping this rain clears up for the weekend, as ever I'm behind with the garden. But what ever your plans are for the this weekend I do hope it's a good one for you. I dont often paint in acrylics, but the art group wanted to use them. Anyway the subject was highland cattle and here's my version. C # # #

While I was away working, I did manage to catch the opportunity for walks on the beach. If you get lucky out there you can spot Curlews. I managed to get some hazy phone camera photos. And I also did this little watercolour. Such beautiful, and striking looking birds.

Managed to fit in some little watercolours in my sketch book. Here's one that I think is pretty and of the season. Hope everyone's week is being kind to them. C # # #

Evening all on this beautiful warm sunny day. I do hope that the crab man on Cas market is wrong and that this is'nt the last day of summer. But just incase, here is an oil on canvass of some young cows and calves amongst the buttercups, to hopefully keep the spirit of summer going for a while yet..

A garden urn, oil on board. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Had a bash with acrylic paint for this Highland cow. Not used them since I was a teenager and not sure they are for me, but it was fun to do.

Hi everyone, sorry for the long gap since last posting, there has been so much going on, not least of all a minor emergency operation for me! Anyway hopefully getting back into some sort of routine again now. So I've been working on this watercolour of Guinea Fowl since the beginning of May, finished at the beginning of July, possibly some kind of record even for me! Hope you all like it. C # # #

Last saturday i went on an oil painting workshop run by artist Carl Longmate at Calder Art Supplies in Huddersfield. I had an absolutely super day and loved every minute. Here is the result.

Blimey, we are having a massive rain storm up here in the tropics of East Yorkshire! Hope that if you are caught in it you have a safe journey home from work or wherever you may be. This is a little oil painting on board, of some hens. I took this photo years ago always meaning to paint it, but never got round to it till just the other week. Hope you like it. Have a lovely Bank Holiday all. C # # #

Bluebell woods, oil on a very small canvass. I get all excited to see the bluebells, so many lovely memories of walking with Grandparents, the breath taking colour and wonderful scent. My favorite time of year.

17/04/2023

Sheep, oil on canvass and quite large! It's from a photo by a kind chap called Phil Baines, donated to one of the photos for artists groups. I've actually been walking up here, its one of the moors near Howarth, complete with a sheep. Hope everyone has a great week. C # # #

Sadly not had chance recently to get any artwork finished. But on the long dark winter evenings I did finish this large embroidery, designed by Margaret Light and published by Inspirations. Was a fantastic project to work. C # # #

Mean while I thought I would share this painting I did of a little beach on Lindisfarne. Have a good weekend everyone. C # # #

Mist and frost out on the river Bank. Its a teeny tiny oil on canvass, but I do love working smaller, you get faster results. But there are some bigger works in progress, I've just got to get them over that finish line. Hope everyone is enjoying the spring flowers. C # # #

Apparently I'm a rising creator, according to face book!

11/12/2022

Well while cold snap is continuing I fancied painting a cow in a summer meadow. I have loads of new fabulous photographs from the recent snow and some wonderful Moor top walks. But the artist side of me is like, nope feeling summery. So here she is. Hope everyone is having a lovely if chilly weekend. C # # #

Hi everyone, well the winter weather has reached us at last, and I need to get out into that garden to finish planting tulip bulbs, move more tender plants into the greenhouse or up against the wall, in the vague hope of them surviving! But in the meantime here's my latest oil painting of a reflected sunset in the clouds over Fylingdales Moor. Have a lovely end to the weekend whatever your plans.

20/11/2022

Gordale Scar, near Malham. Oil on board. I do hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Sunday, I'm enjoying the surprise sunshine while I can. C # # #

Olly in the garden shed, oil on board.

04/11/2022

Oh these weekends seem to be coming round so fast. I thought that I would share a drawing that we did in art group of a Stag, done in pastel pencil. The photo reference was from one in a group called Photos for Artists, and like a complete chump I've forgotten where I jotted the name of the actual photographer. So as soon as I find it I will amend this post to give them the credit they deserve.

Happy Friday, hope everyone has a great weekend. This week I managed to finish this little oil painting. I showed it to my mother and she exclaimed "oh that is lovely" but then quickly followed with "but what is it?" 😆 So in order to dispell any confusion its sheep in a barn looking out across the hills near Danby. I painted this landscape a couple of years ago now I think. But it just didn't seem quite right some how, so I have added some cows the the foreground to try to build up some interest. I think its certainly better than it was, but not sure I've totally captured the Belted Galloway breed.

16/09/2022

Oh look cows! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. C # # #
