Skyline Harvest is an Eco Contemplative Center dedicated to cultivating awareness of the sacred throughout the human community and the natural world. And trust.
Skyline Ranch was the name of our land before we incorporated as a California non-profit organization in 1987. In choosing a new name, we kept Skyline and added Harvest. The expansive south facing skyline of our property was an apt symbol. From this meeting of heavens and earth, at the horizon of our human consciousness, could emerge a light-filled harvest. All we needed to do was be faithful. We
began Skyline Harvest after Diane finished her master’s degree in theology and pastoral ministry. Teresa left 26 years as a Carmelite Sister and together they began to tend the land, while at the same time, reaching out to women in jail and prison, and inviting them to Skyline as a place of transition and healing. Over the years Skyline Harvest morphed from a Healing Center for women in transition from prison to an Eco Contemplative Center dedicated to cultivating awareness of our radical inter-relatedness with all of life. We have integrated the work of geologian, Thomas Berry and intercultural philosopher, Raimon Panikkar. We teach and practice the Enneagram. The teachings of Christine Stewart Price and Gestalt Awareness Practice have deeply enhanced our lives and deepened the compassion of our hearts. We listen to the teachings of this land and recognize our constitutive relationship with our earth home. We celebrate our communion with all of our relations through a monthly gathering we call Earth Liturgy. We have spiraled back to our work with women in prison. There is a certain seamlessness about our presence in the prison and our presence on the land. Everything is connected. The health and well-being of one is connected to the health and well-being of all. Through our Lioness Tale Prison Project (LiT-uPP) a harvest of light and compassion is radiating from the inside out to include us all. This harvest does not distinguish between social and environmental, between criminal justice and earth justice, between inner and outer, prisoner or free. In the awareness that everything is connected, one act of love vibrates through the whole web.
