Well that was quite a weekend! My first Brahms 2. An extremely scary experience in so many ways but so worth it! Thank you to everyone at Colchester Symphony Orchestra and the huge audience for making it such a special occasion!

After quite an intense Saturday evening, it was lovely to return to play for the Shropshire Music Trust with the magical Carducci String Quartet to play Schumann.

Well, we’ve enjoyed some fabulous performances this year, but next Sunday morning (December 17 at 11:15) sees us reach the final Coffee Concert of 2023. Happily, Sunday’s concert features the truly wonderful Carducci String Quartet, who return to the Holywell to play one of their trademark Shostakovich quartets plus a superb “Razumovsky” from Beethoven. We’ve been so fortunate over our 35-plus years of MiA events to have had some of the world’s most celebrated musicians make the trip to north Oxfordshire to play for us. This Sunday’s concert at Adderbury Parish Church (November 19 at 18:00) is pretty typical in that regard... That evening, we welcome top international artists, the Carducci String Quartet to play great works by Shostakovich and Beethoven. And they’ll also be joined by brilliant Australian classical guitarist Craig Ogden (described by BBC Music Magazine as “a worthy successor to Julian Bream”) for a performance of Boccherini ’s Guitar Quintet in D major. It was a very special evening for us and the lighting in the Royal Albert Hall was absolutely incredible!

Today, we are thrilled to be beginning our four day residency at Kilkenny Arts Festival. Great to be back in this gorgeous city for an exciting and vibrant festival with loads to hear, see and do! First concert at St John’s Priory at lunchtime today. Looking forward to it 🎻

We're still speechless following the spellbinding performance by Jacqui Dankworth and the Carducci String Quartet last night.

Here they all are backstage following their magnificent performance.

Jacqui's voice was described by one audience member as 'pure liquid' and we couldn't agree more.

And now on to Friday's festivities - we're so looking forward to seeing Jennifer Pike and her unique collaboration with Ayaan and Amaan Ali Bangash, which she spoke about on BBC Radio 3 only last week.

Stoked to be part of the BBC Proms again this year, with our own late-night slot on August 9th 2023, at the Royal Albert Hall.

We're going to be singing everything from Renaissance to Radiohead, and we're thrilled that some friends are coming along for the ride - Ola Gjeilo and Carducci String Quartet will be joining us.
