They consists of 4 working members which each one has his/her own different experience and expertise. Dare2Speak is proposed to assist learners in practicing the speaking skill by enabling learners to choose a mission to undertake with the use of the concept of interactive and collaborative learning. Dare2Speak offers a role-played mission of practising the speaking skill efficiently by providing
various missions which can be split into many challenges such as a mission of “ordering goods” consisting of a challenge of “ordering a cup of coffee” and “ordering pizza”. Dare2Speak also integrates the concept of collaboration among learners through the feature Live Learning by allowing the learners to interact with other learners using Kinect and Cloud Computing technology. This feature permits learners to learn together with amusement by letting each learner play a different role in one challenge such as the challenge of “ordering a cup of coffee”, where one can play a customer and the other a waitress. Additionally, Dare2Speak combines the concept of interactive learning into the system through the following 3 features:
Mastery: the learners’ voices will be recognised, converted to text, checked for grammar and finally the feedback will be given to learners promptly. Useful grammar rules are also suggested to help learners to improve their skill. Treasure Chest: Dare2Speak introduces our assistant, to help learners find the meaning of vocabulary words from a dictionary or translate them into another language using the Bing translator. Trophy: the learner’s evaluation will be kept. Every mistake of the learner will be evaluated after each mission and will be collected. The types of mistakes will also be categorized which will be given back to learners. Learners can always go back and look at their missions’ history and see how much they have improved.
