Prominent Christian leaders have sent a letter to Donald J. Trump urging him to not weaken the pro-life plank of the Republican party. Their letter explicitly asks the President to commit to keeping language in the platform that the party supports a “human life amendment to the Constitution” and legislation to “make clear that the 14th Amendment’s protections apply to children before birth.”

It was co-signed by ten anti-abortion leaders, including Marjorie Dannenfelser of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, Ralph Reed of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, and Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America.

While the conservative leaders praise Mr. Trump as “the most pro-life president in American history,” the subtext of their letter is the growing concern in socially conservative circles that Mr. Trump may try to weaken the anti-abortion language in the party platform.

The Party platform committee meets next week in Milwaukee ahead of the RNC Convention which will run July 15-18th. Tony Perkins, who is on the Republican National Committees' platform committee, said that it is crucial for the party not to backtrack on its platform.

Today's Washington leaders cannot muster the collective courage needed to achieve the D-Day victory 80 years ago! Can you imagine modern debate weighing the environmental impact of D-Day? There would be endless floors of progressives debating efforts to achieve equity and inclusion. At the same time, some would loudly sympathize with the Axis of Evil, similar to their efforts to back Gaza in an effort to stall the European rescue. While some still to this day maintain a protectionist viewpoint, let us today recognize the sacrifice so many paid for our freedoms here and abroad.

The D-Day landings marked the beginning of the end for N**i Germany. Sadly, it seems many Americans no longer appreciate the importance of this victory or why we sacrificed so many American lives to achieve it. In an era where those on both the left and right again look to government as a tool to accomplish their ideological aims, this fight for liberty should not be thoughtlessly forgotten.

Commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day is about honoring the past. It also allows us to reaffirm our commitment to freedom and republican virtue. In doing so, let’s fight for the world that President Franklin Roosevelt prayed for in his radio address to the nation on D-Day, when he hoped for “a peace that will let all of men live in freedom, reaping the just rewards of their honest toil.”

On its 80th anniversary, D-Day still matters The absence of major events to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day in North Carolina's capital makes it clear we've lost sight of the importance of this key victory over totalitarianism.

North Carolina Republican legislators advanced a proposed constitutional amendment Wednesday to make it clear that only U.S. citizens can vote in the state. State legislatures in at least six states already have agreed to place noncitizen voting measures on the fall ballots.

House Rules Committee Chairman Destin Hall, told the committee that some have suggested the constitution’s current language “may be a floor up rather than the ceiling of who can vote,” and that “the fear is that some future court could decide that that’s not a limitation on everybody who can vote.”

Some local jurisdictions — including San Francisco and the District of Columbia — have begun allowing immigrants who aren’t citizens to vote in local races for school board or city council. A 2016 election audit in North Carolina found that 41 legal immigrants who had not yet become citizens cast ballots in the election.

Federal Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly openly mocked Paulette Harlow's faith when handing down a two-year jail sentence for praying on the sidewalk outside the Washington Surgi-Clinic, known for its late-term abortions.

The 75-year-old pro-life sidewalk counselor and grandmother has been under house arrest since November 2023, when she was convicted with nine other Christians for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and of “conspiracy against civil rights” for praying and singing hymns. Some in the group blocked access to the abortion clinic.

The Government's prosecutor, Rebecca Ross, insisted that the grandmother “denied empathy and compassion” to women attempting to abort their children on the day of the rescue and recommended a sentence of 33-41 months.

In an unusual move, similar to the New York Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the Biden Department of Justice took a lesser misdemeanor and coupled it with another crime, in this case, a conspiracy charge, to ratchet it up to a 10-year prison term.

Martin Cannon, senior counsel at the Thomas More Society, said he felt the sentences were unfair and plans to help the defendants with their appeals.

North Carolina House Leadership filed House Bill 1074, to ensure citizens-only voting in North Carolina. Polling shows North Carolinians overwhelmingly support a citizens-only voting amendment to our state’s constitution. It is a commonsense measure to further safeguard and uphold the integrity of our elections. The NC House is expected to vote on the bill in June.
