Tonight we heard the premiere of RPS Composer Fergus Hall’s piece we commissioned for The Hermes Experiment at Dalston’s buzzing Cafe Oto. ‘Look what I found’ is an atmospheric, watery and beautiful shoreline exploration for soprano, harp, clarinet and double bass that we can’t wait to hear again.

Be among the first to hear new music we have commissioned from 2024 RPS Composers Anjelica Cleaver, Fergus Hall, Sun Keting and Sarah Frances Jenkins, all coming up in the next couple of months:
31 May: Anjelica Cleaver will join the Asaka Quartet giving the premiere of a new work for string quartet and guitar at Wigmore Hall.
10 June: RPS Award-winning ensemble The Hermes Experiment give the premiere of Fergus Hall's new work for soprano, clarinet, harp and double bass at Cafe Oto.
13 July: pianist Clare Hammond will premiere Sun Keting's new work at Cheltenham Music Festival.
24 July: The Marian Consort give the premiere of Sarah Frances Jenkins' choral work at Ryedale Festival, inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite paintings in the chapel of Castle Howard.

Announcing the seven composers who will be participating in the 2024 RPS Composers programme! We are so excited to be working with them and our valued programme partners over the next year, and we look forward to sharing more of their work with you.
The composers we are proud to support this year are: Aileen Sweeney, Anjelica Cleaver, Fergus Hall, James Albany Hoyle, Jasper Dommett, Sun Keting, and Sarah Frances Jenkins.
Over the course of the programme, composers will take part in professional development sessions with us and guest speakers from across the music profession. Composers also receive a commission to write a new work for one of our partner organisations: Cheltenham Music Festival, Hebrides Ensemble, Music in the Round and Ensemble 360, Presteigne Festival, The Hermes Experiment, The Marian Consort, and Wigmore Hall Learning.
We are so grateful to RPS Members, the Delius Trust, the Fidelio Charitable Trust, Presteigne Festival, PRS Foundation's The Open Fund, the Radcliffe Trust, the Susan Bradshaw Composers' Fund, the Vaughan Williams Foundation, and several anonymous donors for their support.
We'll be shining a spotlight on each of these outstanding composers over on X/Twitter throughout the day, and we invite you to look out for them, find out more about their work and listen to their music.
