Ft. "In the year 2022, I was travelling in Europe and United Kingdom with my friends.

While my initial plans centered around meeting friends in Porto, fate had a different plan for me. I learned about the Guns n Roses concert happening in Lisbon. I couldn’t miss it given I was in Portugal. GnR, a band that had fueled my soul since childhood, beckoned me, and I knew I couldn't let this opportunity pass.

Taking a leap of faith, I decided to venture to Lisbon. The only thing bothering me was that I had to travel solo. It was a daunting prospect, my first time traveling alone in a foreign land, but I embraced the unknown with courage and open arms. My temporary home became a diverse hostel, welcoming travelers from all corners of the globe.

As I mingled with kindred spirits from Morocco to Sweden, my apprehension began to dissipate, replaced by a profound sense of connection with the world. However, fate had another twist in store for me. Within just two days of the event, I found myself battling a fierce adversary - Covid-19.

Imagine the fear and uncertainty that washed over me, alone in a foreign country, grappling with a deadly disease at that time. Despite my fears, I chose to face this challenge head-on. Isolating myself for five days, even though my symptoms eased by the third day. Thanks to vaccination. The symptoms weren’t serious.

In the solitude of quarantine, I found strength and resilience I never knew I possessed. The experience brought into sharp focus the fragility and preciousness of life, instilling in me a profound gratitude for each moment of existence.

After overcoming this unforeseen trial, I emerged with renewed vigor, embracing the remaining days in Lisbon with a newfound sense of purpose. Exploring the city's hidden gems, connecting with locals, and immersing myself in its rich heritage, I discovered that solo travel had unlocked an inner world of growth and self-discovery.

As my time in Lisbon came to a close, I bid farewell to the cherished souls I had met along the way. Enriched by their stories and the experiences we shared, I journeyed onward to Rome to reunite with my friends. This adventure, filled with unexpected challenges and empowering moments, had transformed me at my very core.

The beauty of life lies not only in its grand milestones but also in the twists and turns that shape us along the way. Portugal became more than a destination; it became a symbol of resilience, a testament to the power of embracing the unknown, and a reminder that even amidst uncertainty, we can find strength, forge connections, and create unforgettable memories. My heart brimming with gratitude and awe, I returned home forever changed, ready to embrace life's next magnificent chapter."

When we asked to narrate a story about the bond you share with your brother, she said,

"We have The Unbreakable Bond
Me and my brother ( ) grew up together and saw all the ups and downs in life together. We were always very close despite of all our fights and difference in opinions. We worked really hard for our way up in life and built everything from the scratch. Coming from a humble background we never forgot our roots. Today we are each other’s strength and confidence. Whether business decisions or personal we always have each other’s back. Blessed to be born as siblings"

We asked about her favorite memory of growing up together with her siblings and here’s what she said

“My favorite memory of us growing up together is when we would all stay up late at night and talk. We would talk about everything under the sun and I always felt so safe and loved when I was with & .7

I remember one time, we were talking about our dreams for the future, and we all laughed about how crazy they sounded. But even though they were crazy, I knew that we could achieve anything if we worked together.”

UK: What led you to coin the idea of a café in the Stock Exchange building?
RG: Stock Exchange Building has a great potential for coffee & desserts which was my husband, Mr. Ayush Gupta's analysis. The idea was to provide a decent place that enables office meetings, get togethers and break from tedious office jobs which was missing out in that location. With his impeccable support, I was able to set this café up.

UK: Tell us about the dessert section of 'Famish'. How come, so special😍?
RG: We have an elongated experience of running a dessert bar at Cawnpore Club for 3-4 years. We have worked reluctantly on meeting the dessert needs of all sweet toothies around the world. The desserts range from ice cream sundaes, waffles, pancakes, (most amazing) cheesecakes, brownies and so much more! Freshly prepared dessert on order is our favourite game!!

UK: What is the biggest USP of this café??
RG: USP of our café is that we have launched this 'UFO Style Burger' which is the first of its kind, in the city. It's spill proof and an easy to eat burger. The premium Lavazza Coffee is the 70% part of our USP though!

UK: Tell us about an interesting episode of serving Lavazza, the premium coffee brand, in the café.
RG: We have encountered many happy moments by serving Lavazza to our customers. There have been times when people enter with dull Monday blues but after having Lavazza, their mondays turn into a hug from the coffee mug!!

UK: One success mantra for Kanpur's budding women entrepreneurs..
RG: Hard work, dedication and perseverance is the mantra for success. Being an MBA graduate and an ex-investment banker, it had been a roller coaster ride to be able to create a niche in this competitive f&b industry. Being consistent and working diligently towards your goal reaps unconditional positive results in the end!

Meet the face behind the “Tapah”, , “O Stree, Stress Free Ho Ja” and a yoga expert Ms. XYZ who transformed the fitness industry in Kanpur. She started O Stree, Stress Free Ho Ja with an aim to support women who are suffering from stress and its related disorders due to lifestyle scenarios and successfully helped many women.

Graduated with BSc in Yoga Therapy, performed Ashtanga Vinyasa 200 hours under USA alliance, and QCI level 2 under the Ayush ministry of India – She has worked tirelessly towards her goal ‘Fit Kanpur’ and dreamt of opening her own fitness center to help Kanpurites live a healthy living.

She says, “There were certainly hurdles to start my own studio as working under someone was never my thing, I needed my freedom of work and also the fitness industry in cities like Kanpur was deteriorating because of unprofessionalism and lack of knowledge.”

Meet Dr. Sanjivini Sharma, , a dentist (gold medalist), a blogger, and founder of ‘Kanpur Ploggers’, a youth-based community that has been cleaning the ghats of the Ganga river in Kanpur City for the last one year.

She loves to talk about sustainable ways of living and the hazards of single-use plastic and encourages everyone to pledge against using single-use plastics to save the planet. Through Kanpur Ploggers, she and her team have conducted weekly cleaning drives and prevented more than 10 thousand kilos of plastic and other pollutants from reaching the Ganga River.

Dr. Sanjeevani Sharma finds her joy in the lap of nature and that’s what made her act towards protecting our earth. She has been successfully organizing weekly clean-up drives at Ganga Ghats in Kanpur and also conducts awareness programs against plastic pollution and single-use plastic. She has received accolades from the Municipal Corporation and the national Namami Gange project for her contribution towards the conservation of the environment.

Shivam ( .srivastava ) was quite good in Athletics & Track & Field during school days. He wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a Sports Captain at least in school. But due to some circumstances or you can say partiality, he couldn't.

Few months later he decided to form his own group, Kanpurrunners ( ). He started training on roads with two athletes and Rs. 20 in his pocket.

Currently he's holding a community of 70+ Runners from across India including (ultra runners, marathoners, sprinters, IITians & cyclists).

The Community has done a lot of successful events. The best is yet to come, Sky's the limit ✌🏾

An attempt to create history !!

In January 2022, they're planning an ultra relay race. It starts from Kanpur (India) to Pokhara (Nepal) which is 650+ Kms.

No one has attempted such races in India yet. Kanpurrunners would be the first running crew who will attempt to create new record by organising marathon expedition between two neighbouring countries : 🇮🇳🇳🇵

There would be around 15-16 runners +5 supporting crew & cyclists. They are aiming to complete this race in the minimum possible time.

They are Kanpur's first running club who train for free!! Anyone who's passionate about running can join them. Their Ultimate Aim is to make people aware of Marathon Sports (Running 42 Kms) & Break The Barriers.
