Hello, today is my girl suji's 5th birthday. I hope he well get everyone very happy birthday wishes 🎂🎂🎂

PLEASE NOTE — “Snappy” is not your “regular” fox.
“Snappy” came to us earlier this year from another rescue who deemed she was unsafe for release due to toxoplasmosis damaging her neurologically. (Her toxo count is stable and she remains non contagious.)
She wouldn’t be able to fight for food or territory and would not last independently in the wild for long.
The rescue who saved her couldn’t house her permanently and they needed a sanctuary placement for her or she would be PTS 🌈 😢
Steve of course said yes, and she’s been an absolute pleasure.
Over night she goes into a XL crate with a bed and blanket in the treatment room - She has been trialled out in the enclosure with the other foxes and she really reclused and acted very withdrawn.
🐈 Interaction has never been encouraged, however when “Snappy” first arrived she was in the garden and Buddy, the founders young kitten, was instantly smitten with her. 🦊
They have a very natural, calm relationship and seem to really enjoy spending time together 🧡 🦊

Introducing Bobby
When we arrived to him, Bobby was well and truly in the wars
His leg was completely severed, and hanging on by just a piece of skin. What's worse is that he had been in this way for some time, and infection had taken hold
We took him straight to our fantastic vet, where it was determined that the leg would need to come off if we were to save his life
He's recovering with us at the centre now. His appetite has improved and he's loving his extra comfy blankets. We have him on ab support and pain relief and we're giving him plenty of tlc
It's a front amputation, so there's no realistic prospect of release. Foxes do well after a back amputation but front is a different story all together. He will be mobile enough to enjoy life, but his hunting days are now behind him. It's early days in recovery yet, but we'll be looking at finding Bobby a space in sanctuary, so he can live the rest of his days in peace and safety. In the mean time we'll continue on with supportive care, and aim to set him up for a good quality of life going forward

Introducing Mimi
One of our most recent rescues
Mimi is a very poorly fox, she was reported to us swaying and drooling and unable to navigate her environment. It turnes out that she was plagued with infection and covered in flystrike, she had deep wounds already infested with maggots
She was initialy picked up by a kind member of the public, and quickly passed on to us. We spent the best part of 3 hours making sure that every maggot was removed and she was very good about it
We've cleaned her up, shes seen our vet and we have her on 2 antibiotics, and we are keeping a very close eye on her. Her temp is sky high at the moment and due to the advanced stage of infection, sepsis is a real concern. She's currently snuggled up in her bed
We won't post pictures of her wounds as they are too graphic to share
We'll do our best to see her through what is the most vulnerable time in her life so far, and see if we can begin to turn things around for the poor girl

Look who is able to stand on all fours this morning!!!! My heart is so happy. He still isn’t able to coordinate enough to walk well, but he wasn’t able to bear any weight on his back legs yesterday and today he can.
The lump on his back is from subcutaneous fluids, so no need to worry about that.
He is making such great progress. We are all thrilled!
