Remember, we all have our own reasons as to why we love a particular piece, and your reasons will be different from mine. It may be the pattern, the color, the provenance, the memories it evokes, or its outstanding iridescence. They are all correct! Let the countdown begin.
Fenton Open Edge
This very popular and easy to find pattern has two rows of open holes along the top edge. It was produced in both baskets and bowls in a multitude of carnival glass colors. Open Edge piece can also can be found with advertising (John Brand, Feldman Bros, and Millers Furniture) on the base. A rarer version of this pattern, found in bowls and plates, has three rows around the edge. Another similar pattern with berries on the interior, Blackberry Open Edge, was made the following shapes: hats, plates, spittoons and vases. Open Edge has been reissued by Fenton and pieces should have the Fenton mark on the bottom.
