Interesting fact:
*The Black Plague in the 17th century reveals that the entire town Bucklersbury, England was spared from the Plague even while the residents of other towns in close proximity were dying in droves. And why not them? The town of Bucklersbury was the center of the European lavender trade.
Lavender is highly antibacterial and antiviral while stimulating the immune system. Not only that, but it is an insecticide as well - being that the plague was passed on by fleas, so I'm assuming that lavender kept the fleas away as well.
So the citizens of Bucklersbury were breathing in the oil (aromatherapy), and had it on them topically with the pollen in the air and applied liberally to themselves. Amazing! This bit of history is truly amazing to me! Don't take eo's lightly. They kept these citizens alive in a very dark and horrible time.
*** Always remember to use appropriately in regards to the dilution chart. Know that lavender is safe for all, but those that are pregnant and with those with low blood pressure.

The perfect essential oil blend to have with you for camping, hiking, hunting, etc. this summer. Fit2Breathe's Away! Bug Relief. A pure essential oil blend that is made specific to ward away the annoying pests without the added chemicals like DEET. Add drops of this essential oil blend to a spray bottle with water and apply as needed. The bugs won't like you - this is coming from someone that hated going out because the mosquitos wouldn't leave me alone. It works! And I use it on my whole family. Add a couple drops to you candle as well for added protection.
Caution: Do not use on children 5 years and under or on the elderly. A good replacement oil would be a mixture of lavender and tea tree.
