Governor Tony Evers just vetoed AB610.

This bill required any institution of higher education that receives public
funding and that requires any student or prospective student to receive an
immunization as a condition of attendance to waive the immunization requirement
for a student or prospective student if the student or prospective student objects to
the immunization for reasons of health, religion, or personal conviction.

Under the bill, no institution of higher education may require that a student or prospective student provide any explanation or justification of the student's or prospective student's objection to an immunization. Further, the bill requires an institution of higher education that receives public funding to inform a student or prospective student of the student's or prospective student's right to a waiver from the institution of higher education's immunization requirements in writing at any time the institution of higher education informs the student or prospective student of the immunization requirements.

🚨IMPORTANT🚨 We were JUST notified that SB922 and SB924 have been removed from the agenda for tomorrow’s public hearing (2/14/24) at the request of the bill author.
Please note: We are inquiring further and will keep you posted as we know more.

"Decisions of life and death are being determined based on whether or not someone's got a vaccine. I find that deeply troubling. Deeply. Which is why I'm happy to support this legislation because I don't think someone's ability to receive a new organ should be based upon whether or not they've gotten a vaccine."

"There's a reason why this legislation is before us, is that people have been discriminated against based on whether or not they have chosen to get a vaccine, and I think that's ultimately what this comes down to is choice."

Thank you Senator Patrick Testin! We agree!

SB933 Public Hearing 2/6/24 - Questions by Senator Patrick Testin

08/02/2024

🛑Senator Patrick Testin asked Melissa Roberts w/ UW Health if they turn away donations based on someone's vaccination status...can you guess what their answer was?

Public Hearing for SB933 on 2/6/24

Thank you to the Senate Committee on Health for holding a public hearing today on Senate Bill 933- which would prohibit discrimination based on 💉 status for 💉 such as 🦠 and Influenza.

A huge shout out to Anita Day from Milton, WI for sharing her son’s story of discrimination as he made an educated decision to decline the 🦠💉 in order to be placed on the transplant list. We stand with you!! 🇺🇸

Apparently, UW Health has now revised their 💉 policy with regards to the 🦠💉 mandate. I wonder if it has anything to do with this bill, which already received a public hearing in the Assembly, and just had the second hearing today in the Senate? 🤔

It’s a travesty that UWHealth had a 🦠💉 req’t in order to be placed on transplant list. It’s unethical, immoral, & unjust. 🦠 💉 have risks- like all medical procedures. Informed consent is crucial. No wonder the public has lost trust in the medical establishments!

We sincerely thank Senator Patrick Testin on his ? of whether or not UWHealth denies donations from un💉 individuals! They, of course, do not. They accept $ from anyone! It’s interesting on how much they ganged up on the un💉..but willingly accept their $$.

Also- of note- if you are un💉 for 🦠 and are in an accident and able to donate your healthy organs, UWHealth will gladly accept and use your organs. 🤔🤔🤔

Thank you Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara and Representative Joy Goeben for bringing forth this important legislation.

🚨🚨Wisconsin Medical Freedom Advocates🚨🚨

We have it on good authority that a bill is being circulated relating to: REQUIRING employers to post public notice re
COVID-19 vaccination requirements, granting rule-making authority, & providing a penalty.

Representative Christine Sinicki appears to be the author.

This bill requires employers that do not require that employees, volunteers, or contractors be vaccinated against COVID-19 post a notice informing the public or customers who interact in person with the employees, volunteers, or contractors that the employer does not mandate that the employees, volunteers, or contractors be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The bill also provides that a person may file a complaint with the Department of Workforce Development if the person believes that a business has violated the posting requirement. If the department determines that an employer has violated the provision, the employer is subject to a forfeiture of not more than $100 per violation for an employer that employs fewer than 10 employees, and not more than $500 per violation for an employer that employs 10 or more employees.

If you’d like to let Rep. Sinicki know what you think- call her at (608) 237-9120.
