I signed a painting today for the first time in months. It feels good. I only added some pen scratches around this piece as I started it and did most of the work last spring but it still gives me that dopamine hit 😝 I need to do this more. Some baby naps need to be set aside for short bursts of drawing. My hand is out of practice. My muscles need to rebuild. My eye isn’t quite connected with hand like it used to be but I’m going to put in the work. Small little bits of work when I can. I have to. I love how it feels to finish a piece. Oooh I love it!

PERSONAL POST ALERT!! Haha you know me by now I over share sometimes so here we go 🙃

When we were trying to get pregnant and I thought it would never happen I asked the universe for a sign that I might be a mother some day. Right then and there a little sparrow landed on the chair right behind where Brian was sitting. It was last spring or summer…or maybe even the one before that 🤷🏼‍♀️ anyway it seemed pretty obvious at the time that was my sign. A promise of sorts.

Flash forward to now where I’ve been sitting on my couch feeding and caring for my sweetest girl and the spring felt a little lost to me. Like I was missing out. And guess who decides to build a nest right outside the very window I look out all day every day…a pair of sparrows 🥹 I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that’s a coincidence. My promise came true and my heart wants to believe the sparrows came to remind me 💞

As if I needed another reason to believe that birds are messengers 💞 I’m reminded why I love these creatures and how lucky I am to have my baby. If you’ve been struggling with infertility or even just loss or grief of any sort, please hold on. Your time is coming and I hope your heart is healed soon ❤️

Now, to look close enough to figure out what kind of sparrow I’m dealing with here 😂 have a happy day 💕 Thanks for being here and sharing small parts of my heart and life with me. I know I haven’t created anything new in a long time but I hope you’ll stick with me as my life shifts into something new. There is art to come…but ai have no idea when 😅

I guess I’m not the only one with a spring baby 🥹 spotted these little American Robin babes waiting for wormies in the tree in our driveway 🐦 🥚 💙

I have bluebirds in one of my nesting boxes and tree swallows scoping out the other box 💞 AND spotted the tiniest baby bunny hauling b***y across the yard this morning 🥹 SO CUTE!!! I also noticed two green herons swooping in and out of the spruce trees adjacent to my property 🥹 I’m thinking they have a brood too. The orioles and humming birds are busy visiting my feeders and the painted turtles are exploring the sandy yard looking for a egg laying spot. Spring is such a beautiful time. Everything coming to life and so many little miracles all around us. Even though I’ve been so busy wrapped up taking care of my own little bby I can’t tell you how much peace it brings me to see these little cuties out in nature. I’ve felt like I’m missing out on the spring season being tied to my couch feeding and caring for my girl, these moments let me know everything can wait and nature will be there for us when we’re ready 🥰

Please allow me to introduce my newest littlest love, Blair Katherine 💕 she arrived earlier this month over 3 weeks early 😅

I can’t believe how much I love this girl already! This has been the happiest and also most challenging time of my life but she is SO worth it. The sleepless nights are insane 🤪 anyway I won’t bore you just yet with the birth story or postpartum journey but just know I’m out here with my baby girl probably not sleeping and trying to figure out when to eat and shower between diaper changes and feedings lol wish me luck 🍀

We can’t wait to see you this summer! And if you see me out and about looking distracted and overwhelmed just know that I am 😂
