A group of Year 7 pupils were rewarded for their impressive contribution to extracurricular activities and effort in PE lessons, with a trip to Tynemouth. They participated in a surfing lesson with Longsands Surf Co.

First up our wonderful KS3 WHICH WILL NOW START AT 6.15PM INSTEAD OF 7PM.

Rehearsals start end of September.
Key Dates: Sunday rehearsals (9th & 16th February) and 4 evenings of the Show (17th - 20th February).

It has recently come to the attention of school leaders that there has been some inaccurate social media reporting of changes made to the provision of toilets in the school.

Whickham School has recently placed a gate on one set of toilets on the ground floor of the main building. The reason for this is that this toilet is located in an area of the site where there is no supervision during lesson times. This has resulted in some vandalism to the toilets. These toilets will therefore only be open during break and lunch periods when there is also staff supervision.

During lesson periods students are able to access the toilet with the permission of their teacher. There are 28 other toilets open in the main building for students to use at any time of the day.

It is important that if parents or carers have a concern about any issue in school that they contact the school via telephone or email on 0191 496 0026 or [email protected] to ensure an accurate update can be provided.

Today we said a fond farewell to Year 13. Their leavers assembly was full of laughs and emotion as we looked back at their time at Whickham School and . We are so proud of the young adults you have become and we see bright futures for you all!

We are supporting Gateshead West Uniform Scheme by collecting any unwanted or outgrown Uniforms. A great opportunity to both those outgrown uniforms and those no longer needed by Year 11.

Our Reception is open for donations now and throughout the summer holidays.

Please note: Y11 will need to be in full Uniform up to and including their Leavers Assembly on 19th June.

Massive to Poppie (Y7) who selected to represent the North East in the British Road Running Championships which were incorporated into the Mini London Marathon. Competing as a lower-year U13 athlete Poppie had a fantastic run to finish 5th in the UK Championships!

Amazing Team effort from the Y7 Girls Football team who finished 3rd in their group at the 7-a-side county finals! for a fantastic season!
