Just a few reminders it’s that time of year we are receiving calls now for critters that have made their way in.

We’re well into Fall, and rodents have started to move indoors! Here’s a reminder of some of the conditions that attract rodents:

✅ Unsealed garbage bins
✅ Accessible food
✅ Poorly sealed doors, roof lines, and HVAC equipment
✅ Unkempt backyards: birdfeeders, dirty grills, and overgrown foliage
✅ Loose pet food and pet waste
✅ Clutter

Another thought about how fast mice can get out of control in a hurry🤔

It only takes a year and the right sanitation and harborage conditions for 10 mice to become upwards of 650. Fortunately, integrated pest management (IPM) practices help keep those two critical resources to rodents at a minimum, and thus keep the reproduction rate lower. Source: Bobby Corrigan, Ph.D. 2021. Here’s a shareable graphic to show how quickly the growth can occur!

Interesting for sure .

RODENT AWARENESS WEEK DAY 4: Did you know? Rodents smell each other’s breath to determine whether or not a food source is safe. If they detect the smell of a certain food on another rodent’s breath, they assume the food is probably safe to eat. This is one reason why multiple feed rodenticides can be effective.
