As some of you have noticed the store & website have very few hijabs left.
Alhamdulillah Ramadan & Eid season has been very busy and the store got almost wiped clean from inventory.
The store will be closed for the summer & inshallah after July there will be new & beautiful hijab collections coming.

Maida’s Hijab World
While working in a medical office, few years ago, I recall needing many under-pieces for my hijabs as well as comfortable good-quality hijabs to match my medical scrubs. It needed to look well put together, professional and “ up to date” with colors and fabrics. Unfortunately the choices were very limited. I could purchase either black or white underscarf with a cheap lace tacked in the front. The pieces were made of thick rough fabric which was not conducive to the hot climate of my hometown. What's more the rough, fuzzy fabric looked old after only few washes.
One night, I noticed that an undershirt from a popular brand I was folding was still silky-soft and in a great shape despite having been washed a number of times. That is when I thought to myself -- why can't I have hijabs of this quality? Why do we have to settle for less-than exceptional ? In that instant I knew I wanted better quality for myself. My sewing skills were non-existent, but I decided to purchase a sewing machine and give it a try. I have spent countless hours on YouTube watching videos such as “How to get the machine started without breaking a needle or a thread.” Many needles were broken, threads pulled, many yards of fabric were purchased and tossed as I cried and learned. It took many nights and months until I managed to sew a scarf that lived up to that silky soft standard I had set for myself. Soon after I decided to create underscarves that were above what had become the accepted standard. My underscarves had to be comfortable, affordable, but above all practical. So I designed my “ reversible “ two colored underscarf piece. I was elated. My goal of being able to wear a scarf of any color, size or fabric was accomplished. I knew that my daughter and I woud never be forced to spend a fortune on a good quality hijab or compromise on the quality. I was astonished when a few ladies approached me and asked where I purchased my hijabs. I was proud to say that I made my own hijabs, but I backed out when they asked me to make some for them. After many requests, I finally gave in and made a few hijabs for some friends. Initially, I started giving them out as handmade gifts. It took me a long time to realize, that women others were facing the same struggles with their hijabs as I did before making my own. As i started giving more hijabs -- the feedback was always the same. My hijabs were beautiful, unique and comfortable. They stood the test of dessert heat, many machine washing cycles without change in color. The hijabd did not fray and best of all, my friends were getting compliments from strangers on hijabs I had made for them.
After some convincing and increased requests from friends and strangers who had seen my hijabs, I finally decided to go ahead and make my small hijab place - into Maida’s Hijab World. I am very excited and looking forward to serve women of today and bringing them only the best of quality and designs. I am also proud to say that all my fabrics are personally and locally hand picked by me. I take the time and effort to select only the best quality that I personally would want to wear. My motto was - and always will be - “ Quality before Quantitiy! For that reason, I will never be able to produce hundreds of hijabs at any given time. My supplies will always remain limited which ensures that you get only the best selections of unique -handcrafted items.
