Yusss doing his thang at the Motueka Skatepark Official opening! Pretty stoked to see the angles of my piece work!

Pṟøçêšś -𝙼ę𝙻äÑ𝚔𝚑ø𝙻æ 𝟸𝟯’
So I thought I’d share a wee bit of the journey of this piece!
Started off taking a pic, then designing a rough outline of idea. Getting approval to do it. Then went to Mitre 10 Motueka and they kindly sponsored supplies.
First step was thoroughly scrub whole surface with a wire brush, getting rid of all I could. Next step was primer sealer. Then outlines of piece, then first coats of paint. Once the ‘primary’ colours were on I started mixing colours, then used Posca pens for details and lining. lastly a top coat sealer!
Mammoth mission on short timeframe!
I handmade a beam compass, and a skinny pallet platform to reach far left as ramp far to steep and tall to stand. Super long days when weather cooperated!!! All in all, great fun! (Want to note: this was voluntary not a paid piece for anyone wondering and yes I plan to do more there!)

I am so so proud to show my first ever public wall painting at the Motueka Skatepark! Legally thanks to council! Bringing bright colours and a bit of a revamp thanks to being kindly sponsored by Mitre 10 Motueka Mitre 10 Motueka.
The Skatepark has had a massive makeover and the official opening is on the 30th September!
Thanks to the man Brodie, jo, all the boys for their chats and patience while I took up space on the new ramp doing my thing! For all the encouragement and visits from fam and friends. For being crowned ‘Skatepark Mum’.
Many many hours and lots of love in this one! Challenges and learning too and so incredibly grateful for it all.
I will post more of the process in next couple of days! Hope I get to do more public work in future because I loved it!

Meet Geraldine.
She is Space Cadet 333 in the Explorative Space Stars (ESS) program at The School Of Wonderful.
As you can see, she’s been on many a space mission already and has the space dust and patches and smile to show it!
She has big dreams of continuing to explore as much of never ending space as she possibly can and collecting as many new experiences as she can. Eventually becoming an ESS Colonel so she can teach and watch others enjoy space as much as she is.

Random doodle recently. Symbolising how the love for people in our lives is a piece of our heart attached by an imaginary umbilical cord for each. Things change and that love for them can change too but it is still there in it’s own form. The umbilical cords and love is all unique love to those loved ones in our life and attached to the central heart! Our heart can be many places at once 💗
It was meant to also symbolise a fish eye too as I’m Pisces!

Šhë Fęḻṯ Ḏëép ~ 𝙼ę𝙻äÑ𝚔𝚑ø𝙻æ 𝟸𝟯’
She felt deep. She could swim in the puddles of her tears. But life lived there. Lived.
All those tears, one by one, came from her and some of those tears were joy too. Pure joy.
Her ocean of tears only she knew, to which the depths it went, all the roads leading there.
She would ride the waves and swim there. The vast ocean of memories she had created by living her life, not just existing. She would just keep navigating the squalls.
She would just keep her head above the water and lay on her back and float in her ocean of tears.
Smile and remember that the darkness never lasts forever,
Light is always near.

Art and creativity has always been there for me, through everything 💗 But I’m totes a clown too 😂
Learning to balance on this tightrope called life.
Art is therapy, creating something is cathartic. When we’ve been traumatised, depressed, happy, sad, angry, all those primary emotions, expressing ourselves through art is what we do, some to cope with mental illness as a whole💗
If you have any kind of anxiety or depression in future, I urge you to put that energy into a creative pursuit.
Painting, drawing, using the kids crayons, carving, music, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, woodwork, fashion etc etc. A maker!
The world needs our creations.
The knowledge that someone has been in a similar place to us or have empathy will see that feeling in your work and identify with it and not feel so alone in the pain or see hope in a time of need. Be inspired to carry on.
Just make cool s**t 😀
Be a kid again and play.
You can also gauge how a kid is feeling by their art 💗🌻
Don’t take the easy route and cheat yourself out of trying to get better.
Walk that frayed tightrope of life, life itself is Art 💗
We’re all doing the best we can and can always do better!
