đŠScorpio season is shadow season.
I know none of us like this, itâs uncomfortable. Itâs about feeling emotions and working through experiences that are very difficult and painful.
đBut itâs also very enlightening and freeing.
The new moon today urges you to go within either by journalling or meditation.
Sit or lay in silence and be honest and real with yourself.
Find what is bothering you and why?
Why do you think and act the way you do?
What do you want to change?
Not reflecting or reviewing yourself and your motivations means you end up being run by old, outdated programming.
đWhen you are living your life unconsciously on autopilot you are not really in control of yourself or your actions.
You can read more on autopilot parenting in my books The Confident Parents Guide to Raising a Happy, Healthy and Successful Child and The Powerful Proactive Parents Guide to Present Parenting.
đ±Or if you are plagued by catastrophic thinking, always fearing the worst case scenarios, then you can face those fears using  Your Catastrophic Movie Trailer Technique in my mini-course Chaos to Calm -link in bio or visit www. emmagrantauthor.com
đ«Donât allow your past traumas to dictate your future.
âïž Happy New Moon đ
Iâm back!
Iâve missed my Instagram and Facebook friends đ„°
đ»As itâs spooky season Iâve been whipping up some magic and swimming in alchemical creativity and canât wait to share some very exciting projects with you soon.
đ±I hope you are okay and havenât been buying into all those scary stories conjured up in your mind?
đIf youâre feeling a bit edgy write all those troubling thoughts down on paper. Once we get them out onto paper and re read them back to ourselves, they donât seem as real or powerful as they did spinning around our head.
đ·Itâs not always comfortable to do, for a long time youâve probably been trying to forget, fight or distract them or numb them with something like wine (or is that just me???)
But how has that worked out?
Theyâve persisted, right?
đââïžThis way of thinking doesnât just go away, you have to become aware of it and face those fears one by one.
Thatâs exactly what the Chaos to Calmâonline mini-course is created to help you do.

As mums, weâre always focused on making sure our children are happy and healthyâbut how often do we pause to check in on ourselves?
World Mental Health Day is the perfect opportunity to reflect on our well-being and take small, meaningful steps to improve not only our own mental health but also that of our children.
We get so caught up in doing that we forget to simply be.
The first step to better mental health is reducing stress. While you might not be able to hit pause on your parenting duties, you can still create pockets of time for relaxationâeven if itâs just a few minutes while your child is playing nearby.
Itâs natural to feel like you always need to be âon,â but today, allow yourself to switch offâeven if itâs just for half an hour.
Iâve created an 18 -minute meditation to help you feel less stressed and more relaxed, so youâre better equipped to handle the inevitable chaos that erupts later.
Turn off your notifications, put your phone on Do Not Disturb, and allow yourself this small window of time to let go of control and stress, so you can become the calm, centred mum you want to beâwithout being controlling. Allow yourself to feel lighter, more present, and empowered to embrace parenting with greater ease and clarity.
Let go of those constant worries, release any tension, and sink into a state of peaceful awareness. When you give yourself permission to simply beâwithout needing to control every momentâyour children will thrive and grow in a space of love and understanding.
đ§ Listen now, head over to todays blog for more information and tips to quiet your mind, connect with your inner Mum-zen, and practice being the mindful, present parent you want to be.
https://www.emmagrantauthor.com/blog/from-monsters-to-meltdowns-is-your-child-catastrophising
Remember those carefree childhood days when your biggest worry was choosing between the red or blue crayon?
If you do, you probably had a pretty happy upbringing. These days, though, things look a little different.
While some imagination is healthy and normal, obsessing over every little thing, real or imaginary, isnât. But whatâs worrying is that a lot of kidâs concerns arenât all in their head. Today they're more aware of real dangers tooâthanks to the news, social media, and our own well-meaning warnings.
Over the past 20 years, Iâve noticed a huge shift in how kids playâand how they worry. Anxiety is on the rise, and more and more children are falling into catastrophic thinking patterns.
But what does that actually mean?
Find out what catastrophic thinking is, why it takes hold of your child, and learn practical steps to guide them away from endless worry and turn those what-ifsâ into âI can handle itâsâ in my latest article, âCatastrophising Kidsâ in the latest issue of Mums & Tots magazine, on sale now.
Or for some quick tips on how to calm the storm when your childâs imagination is more horror movie than happy ending, take a look at todayâs blog post From Monsters to Meltdowns- Is your Child Catastrophising?

From Monsters to Meltdowns- Is your Child Catastrophising? Find out what catastrophic thinking is, why it takes hold of your child and learn practical steps to guide them away from endless worry and âwhat-ifs, into a calmer, happier mindset.
Thoughts Whizzing Through Your Head?
5 Minutes to Realign and Centre Yourself.
đPlace your right hand over the left side of your chest. Close your eyes and take in a deep, slow breathe and release slowly. Repeat this 3 times.
đźâđšVisualise calm, peace and balance within yourself as you focus only on your breath.
đSpend about 5 minutes meditating, allowing your breath to bring you some calm and peace of mind.
đŻïžIf thoughts pop in (as they do) say the words
âRELAX,â
âRESTORE,â
âRESET,â
And feel yourself calming down gradually. Feel yourself restoring on a cellular level, and mentally resetting.

đThere are so many things Iâm grateful for in my life.
đ«¶I couldnât count them all in a post but I can count my blessings for all my Insta / Facebook friends and family.
đSo today I want to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
đ„°Your friendship, support, and kindness mean the world to me, and Iâm so incredibly grateful for all your support.
đ±Itâs those genuine connections that Iâve made here over the years, that make social media a great place to be and grow together.
đYour presence here is a gift, and Iâm truly blessed to have this beautiful community.

đ€Every now and then I get one of those aha moments.
đïžSuddenly the penny drops or I see clearly something that was always there but I couldnât see before.
âIâm not sure if you have those moments or not?
âšBut if you do youâll know how magical they can feel âš
Itâs like suddenly everything makes sense. Even the bad potatoes đ„
đCatastrophising keeps me safe. It keeps me exactly where I am.
đąBut it kills joy!
â€ïžâđ„ But growing up joy didnât happen naturally for me. In fact I didnât know who or what joy was until around 10 years ago. And still I try to resist her by worrying, catastrophising or over working to the point of total burnout.
âșïžIâve spent many years experimenting with the Law of Attraction. And Iâve had some great results.
đïžBut the moment I got the Law of resonance was the key that you have to be that which you want and not the Law of Attraction because the Universe doesnât give you what you want, it gives you who you are.
đGame changing moment!
Does that resonate with you too?
đđSeptember signals a change in season as the green leaves turn to golden yellows, oranges, browns and reds.
đ„”Theres a fresh breeze in the air blowing away the heat of summer. And all that got you hot and bothered.
đAutumn asks us to let go and to drop our leaves and leave behind what no longer serves us.
đLet all thatâs holding you back fall away.
đ«Transformation is possible now.
âThe question is -
What changes will you be making?
If one of those changes is to stop worrying, let go of old dramas and rise above all the fear, and take control of your life, this oneâs for you.

đConstantly catastrophising drains your energy and
clouds your mental capacity to think clearly.
âïžThis throws you off balance and burnout begins.
đ©When you are burnt out itâs like youâre stuck in the mud and the more you try to get out of it, the deeper you sink.
đIf you have been feeling burnt out itâs essential to step away from your current circumstances and look at them as an outside observer.
âWhat would someone else you respect or who loves you think about your situation? What advice would they give you? Or what advice would you give them if they were you?
đżItâs also important for you to find grounding.
Earthing yourself by spending time among nature is important for your health.
đ„°Show yourself compassion, reconnect to the environment and your own body.
đ„Allow yourself to feel whatever youâre feeling and resist the urge to fight it, ignore it or judge how you feel.
Feelings pass when you stop the thoughts that fuel them.
Be kind to yourself. Em xđ©·
What a difference a year can make.
Just 12 months ago exactly I was here on holiday with my family.
đ€ȘThatâs when I first realised my catastrophising had taken over. What I once thought of as me being an over protective mum, turned me into a neurotic mum.
đ»It was the 1st holiday both my children were old enough to drink and I was totally fine with drinking with them, until⊠it was getting late and my husband and I were ready to go back to our hotel to bed and our offspring wanted to stay out and carry on drinking without us. đ±
Panic set in, what if they got really drunk and lost their phones, bag or money?
What if they got mugged?
What if they got spiked?
What if they got propositioned and taken advantage of?
What if they couldnât remember where the hotel was and got lost?
đŁThose what iffs got louder and more dramatic as I lay in bed wide awake all night and morning, trying to check their location on an app.
đïžThis wasnât the relaxing, fun family holiday I planned.
đŁI was tired and a nervous wreck that just wanted to come home and never go on holiday with my kids ever again.
đ„±But neither the holiday or my kids were the real problem, it was those imagined nightmares keeping me awake.
đ€ŻThe real issue was the out of control thoughts in my mind causing my body to experience fear and anxiety.
đčYesterday was a totally different experience as we chilled out drinking cocktails at a beach club. The kids went onto a club afterwards while the hubby and I went home with a take out and watched a film all relaxed after a fabulous family day out.
đWhoâs clock watching too?

đThe big day has arrived when your baby is either starting childcare, school or University for the first time.
đłItâs a nail biting time, I know.
But whose most anxious you or your child?
đŹIf youâre anything like me then itâll be you who will be on edge.
What if they donât make friends?
What if theyâre sad and miss me too much?
What if they canât look after themselves?
What if something happens to them?
What if⊠what if?
đThe what iffs go on and on until you are fraught with despair and your heats beating out your chest.
đ¶No matter how old your child is theyâll always be your baby.
I get it, Iâm that muma too!
My children are young adults and I still track their whereabouts on an App, so I always know where they areâŠ. just in case! Â
âMaybe your own parents smothered you obsessively and were overly anxious or over controlling, or maybe they were the opposite and didnât care at all?Â
đ«However, youâve adopted your parenting style doesnât matter. Itâs recognising that thereâs a fine line between caring and controlling. And the latter affects you just as much as your child.
What if you allowed yourself to only think about all the new friends theyâll make?
Or all the fun theyâll have playing?
Or valuable lessons theyâll learn?
đ€What if your kids are more capable and resilient than you think?
đȘđ»What if their self confidence and self reliance grew from wiping their own bum or tears?
To be autonomous learners children need freedom to explore. To take some safe risks. To be allowed the freedom to fail and learn from their experiences, mistakes and all.
âșïžSo relax Muma, stop catastrophising, today could be the start of a wonderful, fun filled journey ahead for your child.
đ§±When you become emotionally wounded, you build defence barriers.
đ°By being hyper vigilant and on guard you make yourself believe you are protecting yourself and those you love from harm.
đłBut the truth is this is just worry, stress and anxiety dressed up in excuses to keep you scared and stop you living a full, free life.
đItâs right and natural to have certain fears, these do prevent you and those you love from danger. For example, you wouldnât sit back on a sun lounger reading a book without a care in the world if your 3 year old was jumping in the swimming pool unattended without any floats.
đïžBut what if you decided going on holiday or in a swimming pool was dangerous end of? And you let your fears prevent you and your family taking a much needed summer holiday?
âCould you be unnecessarily holding back from potential fun, family times together because of âWhat ifs?â
đ€When your catastrophising takes over and no real risk is present and your imagination is just running wild, this serves no one. Itâs particularly painful for you because even if your catastrophising isnât real, the way it makes you feel is.
đAnalyse your own protective barriers and, if necessary, break them down so you can be free to experience life with peace of mind.
đïžPeace of mind is possible for you.
â€ïžâđ©čRelease the wounds within, this moment of chaos presents a time of powerful healing and deeper understanding of yourself.
Happy Saturday whatever you are doing today. Em đ
3 Steps to Help You Stop Catastrophising
1. Become fully present in the moment you are currently in.
Whatever you are doing, whoever you are with, be there body, mind and spirit đŻ
2. Give up the đź and making predictions. No one can say what the future will bring because the future holds infinite possibilities, that you alone simply canât control. So stop reading too much into the future and using past experiences to predict what may or may not happen.
3. Take action to manage your stress or anxiety. Whether thatâs changing how and what you eat, exercising, meditation or seeking support from a professional đ§ââïž
There are a number of ways to calm your catastrophising.
Ignoring it isnât one of them.
Have a relaxing Wednesday and be kind to yourself đ„°
