I often hear people say that they want to do it all - pursue their dreams, build their careers, travel the world, and so much more. While it's great to have big aspirations, the truth is that we can't do everything at once.
That's why it's so important to prioritize and focus our time on the single activity that will have the greatest impact on our lives right now. Whether it's starting a new business, improving our relationships, or working on our health and wellness, we need to identify the one thing that will move us closer to our goals and dedicate our time and energy to that.
By focusing on our priorities and taking action on the things that matter most, we can achieve incredible things and create the life we truly desire.
Cream of Pumpkin Soup - Blue Zones The result is a silky, slightly sweet and creamy pumpkin soup that takes about 20 minutes to whip up if you have an immersion blender or food processor.
While researching Blue Zones Kitchen, I met 102-year-old Jose Bonifacio in Nicoya, Costa Rica. Here, I found that people’s strong connection to family, reliance on God, and daily low-intensity physical activity (like walking and gardening) most contributed to their extraordinary longevity.
No one represents the Nicoyan ideal better than Jose Bonifacio, a cowboy, who still rides his horse every morning. He’s lived in the same house his whole life, now with four generations of descendants. He still recites romantic poems and professes his love of women. He tried to romance Maria Shriver, who was traveling with me at the time.
Like most people in blue zones he didn’t try to live to 100. He moves naturally in his daily life, he eats a mainly plant-slant diet, he has found a purpose in life, and puts family first.
