While it is 200⁰ outside I finally decided to sit down and hem some towels. I have 11 to hem!! Can you say procrastinator?

What do you do when it is hotter than hatties out?

A charming bag crafted from my weaving skills.😘 I adore how the strap matches perfectly. This bag features a lining and snap closure, and it's available for $40.

These bags will be heading to Atelier at 1109 soon!

Would you use this as a rug or a wall hanging?

It is 17" wide by 39" inches long if that makes a difference.

I am asking because I need to decide whether to weave in the ends or make it suitable for hanging. I am indecisive, but I love this and looking forward to making it a wider rug!

I found a seamstress who is willing to sew items that didn't make the cut as a scarf or towel! I am so excited!!

The bags she has created out of my work or better yet out of my piles of "what am going to do with this" are so cute and I can't wait to share!

The larger square is a lined crossbody bag and the smaller one is also lined and, well it is just cute! Would make a darling bag for a little girl.

The large one is $40.00 and the smaller one $25.00

Working in the weaving studio and I hear pecking at the window. Look up to see Mr. P trying to get my attention. He probably wants me to shut the wind machine off so he can get back to his perch in the barn.

Lately I have been treating myself to some weaving luxuries, first a new loom and now this box of goodies from one of my favorite stores. This box holds 31 weaving related gifts all indivually wrapped with the number on it. I can't wait until next Friday to begin unwrapping.

The ladies at Atelier finished their scarves and did a beautiful job. We have 4 more weavers in the community!

Their second class project is the houndstooth pattern. I loved how they each chose a different dark color but they had the same taupe color for the light.

All this yarn that was used came from Atelier@1109. If you haven't checked them out yet, this weekend would be a good chance to. Art On the Prairie will be happening both Saturday and Sunday.

Once in awhile you have to try something new to get your creative energy going.

With all our animals that need fed around here we have a lot of feed sacks. This took me an hour and half to make.

Today is a good day to weave. I have my weaving support dogs and then my peacock audience!

Remember this picture? The warping was causing me all sorts of grief. Then my fiber prep picture? Here is one of the two rugs I made and finally have off the loom and ready for it's new home.

It doesn't actually take as long as when I first started posting about it, farm life and just life tend to slow the weaving down when there are nice days. Like they say "Gotta make hay when the sun shines".

Oh Crap! See I am horrible about jumping on FB. Day 11 ~ I spent 2 hours fixing my tension on my rug loom. Then I just had to walk away. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

Day 12 ~ Thought I was ready to go on the rug loom and discovered another problem with a skipped thread in the warp. So my dilemma, do I forget it and move on or fix it? I fixed it. I had to move 35 warp threads over one space in the reed and then re warp in the heddles. Another 2 hours. This is the work I dislike the most but if not done right will not give you the nice finished piece you want. So now it is ready to go. 🀞

Day 13 is book work day. So maybe if it rains the afternoon I will get some weaving in. (I like to weave when it rains)

12/07/2023

Day 10 ~ Somedays things just don't go your way...That was my day. My tension on my rug loom was not right and the more I weaved the worse it got. Now I get to unweave 6". πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Moved to another loom. Starting weaving a flower and ended up doing it wrong. More to rip out...I called it a day!

Photos from Creations Looming's post 11/07/2023

Day 9 ~ Did some fiber prep for rugs and finished the set of towels on the rigid heddle loom.

10/07/2023

Day 8 ~ Took the day off to spend outside, enjoying the beautiful weather. I did read about weaving and my next project, so that should count!
