Hello my wonderful, faithful followers! I do apologize for not being on here much, I promise this page has not been abandoned, I have simply been exploring my creativity with a return to my other outlet: crocheting. Here is a sneak peak of my latest:

Buried in my nightstand, scrawled among the pages of what was meant to be a dream journal, I found the bare beginning of what I referred to as "an unending bed time story."
"You've been so helpful," She said. "What can I do for you in return?" This simple question starts her off on a long journey of tenacity and reciprocity as she attempts to do what she is instructed: place her wand of power in the highest branches of the tallest tree in the forest for ungiven reasons. But is it the destination and goal - or is it the journey itself that is the intent?

Go outside. Stand. Wiggle bare toes in the Earth. Listen. Listen deep. Can you hear it? Close your eyes and listen again. Now do you hear it? There it is, yes. That is the heart beat of the Earth trying to sync in rhythm with yours.

Have whatever opinion you have. But:
1. Try to make it an informed opinion. This can take some considerable effort.
2. Be kind.
If the rare situation occurs when one must choose between the two options above; go with the second one. It is vastly more important to be kind then to be "right." *

The Muppet Show: Harry Belafonte & Animal (Percussion Duet) 03/05/2023

A small tribute to a multi-talented legend who didn't consider it beneath his dignity to have a little fun on the Muppet Show. Indeed, he can't help cracking up at the end.

Meeting our new police chief

Short Chick with Glasses Yours truly with our new police chief, Stacey Graves.  I have been trying to gauge what I think of her since her promotion a few months ago, and when I found there would be a welcome reception for her close by, I decided that would be an excellent opportunity to maybe make my mind up a little.

Why there hasn't been a lot of writing going on with me:

Short Chick with Glasses With the unexpected and insane work load at my day job for the past year or so, and spending whatever free time I have trying to do my little bit to help mitigate the disastrous consequences of fifty {insert expletive here} years’ worth of precedence with a swipe of a pen to take out Roe; my creat...

New Blog post: transformed

Short Chick with Glasses My latest musical obsession is “Fire in My Mouth;” composer Julia Wolfe’s interpretation of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire of 1911.  But I found myself not just thinking of how that nightmare transformed how we work, but also of how primarily single women working in factories transformed our so...

Newsworthy. I had never heard of this antiquated law regarding pregnancy and divorce.

Short Chick with Glasses  For this post, I will share an article that I just finished reading in the Kansas City Star.  I had never heard of this law that exists in a few states, but it does not surprise me that Missouri would be one of them where it is still on the books..  Read please.  It only takes a minute or two. ...

A heart felt, though belated, thank you for those that participated in the book discussion of Short Chick with Glasses last month that I was unable to attend myself. My intent with writing my memoirs was to reach as many people as I can. My message of empowerment was one that I felt important for women and girls with Turner's Syndrome to read. I can only hope that it resonates with readers. Thank you again, and stay safe and warm this holiday season and always.

Short Chick with Glasses On this day – the ancient Celtic New Year – I always take some time to think about those that came before me.  My grandparents, great grandparents and all the way back.

I have been officially informed that my book Short Chick with Glasses is the first book up for discussion in the Butterfly Book Club started up by the Turners Syndrome Society. Fun! I'll return with more info soon. :)

Short Chick with Glasses  Both of my grandfathers served in the Second World War.  Until recently, though, I resisted referring to their generation as “the greatest generation.”  I chafed at the slight, perceived or real, on my parent’s generation, mine, and now my sister’s children and their contemporaries.

I'm in! Thanks to my fellow butterfly (she knows who she is) for bringing this to my attention.

🦋 Update: So far, we’ve received 4 books authored by people with TS. We will be kicking this off and announcing our first book very soon!

There are so many great books written by people with Turner syndrome and their families. We are proud to introduce the upcoming TSSUS Butterfly Book Club!

Here's how it will work: authors with published books who would like to be considered need to submit a hard copy to TSSUS. We will set schedule and choose which books to discuss during the monthly TSSUS Butterfly Book Club and gather together using Zoom.

At this time, we're calling all authors with published books to contact us if you would like book to be considered, or simply mail a hard copy of your book to:
