Funds raised will be used to open 40 college investment accounts for Brown Like Me youth and to teach them the basics of investing in the stock market.
The program aims to narrow the racial wealth gap experienced by Black people. Minorities are taught to put their money in the bank and save, not invest. Investing in financial markets is an important step in narrowing this gap.

On this day in 1968, Tommie Smith and John Carlos used their Olympic platform to stand against social injustice.
“As Smith and Carlos walked to the podium, they took off their shoes to protest poverty. They wore beads and a scarf to protest lynchings. And when the national anthem was played, they lowered their heads in defiance and raised their fists in a Black Power salute that rocked the world.” - DeNeen L. Brown, The Washington Post

The great philosopher Tai Simpson once said, "white people, collect your people." That means when u get a morsel of knowledge from a POC, take it back to the hive and share it with your kind.

I asked a white lady I know if she heard about the Rayshard Brooks shooting this past weekend. She said, "I don't have time to keep up with all that s**t. I just watched the corona stuff and that's it." White people? You wonder why we're angry?

Join us in a moment of silence today, in a National Day of Remembrance of George Floyd.
We will no longer be silenced. It is time to speak up.
